Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) may be a Democrat but she’s not shy about bucking the trend and saying some things that the Biden team might not like.

Gabbard ran for president last year and basically killed Kamala Harris’s run when she eviscerated her during a debate.

Now she has more to say about how the Biden-Harris administration is dealing with things and she’s right on the money.

“@JoeBiden @KamalaHarris, the humanitarian and national security crisis on the southern border is the direct result of your open-border policy,” Gabbard said Wednesday. “As I said in my 2020 presidential campaign, we can’t have a secure nation if we don’t secure our borders.”

That’s sounding a lot like President Donald Trump. Also, a lot like common sense and the way most of America would feel. That’s one of the reasons Trump’s push for a secure border resonated with so many people.

Gabbard is being very blunt and calling it what Biden’s “policy” effectively is: an “open-border policy.”

Then she tweeted again, sounding even more like Trump — she said his policies should be restored.

“The Trump policy of having people wait on the other side of the border worked and needs to be reinstated,” she declared.

She points out something that many on the left don’t seem to understand as they claim to be the more “compassionate” people on the issue: when you encourage this massive influx as Biden has, you are enriching the cartels and the human traffickers who are making money hand over fist  by bringing folks to the United States. It’s placing people in danger and at the mercy of these traffickers.

Now, Gabbard isn’t the only Democrat calling out the Biden border policies — the local Democrats like Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) and the Mayor of Del Rio Bruno Lozano have been talking about the problems and calling for help for months but Biden has basically been blowing them off. It’s harder to blow off a more national figure like Gabbard. But this shows the trouble that Biden and the Democrats will be facing in 2022 when they are perceived by moderate Americans as being the face of the border chaos.

Biden should be listening to Gabbard because hers is a more moderate voice of sense on this issue. Gabbard is talking sense across party lines. But although Biden ran on being a moderate, he has completely governed like a leftist. He should listen to her, and that would help him out of the hole he’s dug for himself on this issue, but he won’t. It’s going to cost him big time when it comes to the midterms in 2022.
