White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made a lot of antennas go up during Tuesday’s press conference when announcing the administration’s latest plan to try to get more people to take the coronavirus vaccine.
Psaki outlined the things they were going to focus on. She then explained that one way that they were going to increase vaccinations was to go “door to door” to do outreach to “get remaining Americans vaccinated.”

Psaki said that the government would be doing “targeted by community door-to-door outreach to get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring they have the information they need on how both safe and accessible the vaccine is.” She also spoke about how they were going to get the vaccines to more primary care doctors.
This immediately concerned a lot of people on many levels. Are they really going to be sending government operatives to your door to harangue you into getting vaccinated? “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.” That’s not going to go over well. This smacks of the vaccine police.
Do they know or have a list of folks who are vaccinated, or are they operating based upon a general assessment of the neighborhood? Are they going to be asking about your vaccination status, which is no one’s business but your own?
I know someone who recently went to a doctor she had not visited before in Texas and who presumably knew nothing about her other than what she had filled out on the initial forms, which did not ask about vaccination status. She wasn’t wearing a mask, but when the doctor came in she said, “It’s okay that you’re not wearing a mask because I know you’ve been fully vaccinated.” Obviously, to get the vaccination and then to get a second shot, you’re on some sort of a list, just to keep track of what you have received. But who else has access to that? Obviously, that doctor was able to get it.
At this point, anyone who wants to likely could have gotten to it. This is a method that’s only going to antagonize and have diminishing returns, ticking people off by being Stasi-like. But Democrats apparently have no issue acting that way.
From “two weeks to flatten the curve” to “a man with dementia is going to send government operatives to your house to make sure you’re vaccinated.” https://t.co/y0krsPNca9

A lot of people have big government antibodies. Don’t knock on those doors. https://t.co/xHmJRhAAxq
