Joint Chiefs Head Has to Clarify Biden's Claim About 'Greatest Threat' to America

As we previously reported, while he was visiting our troops at Royal Air Force Mildenhall in England before the G-7, Joe Biden told the troops that the Joint Chiefs had said to him when he was vice president that global warming was the “greatest threat facing America.”

“This is not a joke,” Biden declared. “You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest threat facing America was? Global warming.” He said the Joint Chiefs told him it was the greatest “physical threat.”

I wrote how that that wasn’t even what he had said the week before when he claimed that “white supremacy” was the most “lethal threat” to America and that he was wrong in either case.

Both President Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted the claim.

As we reported, Trump’s response to Biden’s stupefying comment was quick and to the point:

Biden just said that he was told by the Joint Chiefs of Staff that Climate Change is our greatest threat. If that is the case, and they actually said this, he ought to immediately fire the Joint Chiefs of Staff for being incompetent!

Cruz was thinking much along the same line and thinking maybe it was another Joe Biden lie.

“Either: (1) our joint chiefs need to be fired (doubtful), or (2) our Commander in Chief is lying,” Cruz said.

The comment was apparently so concerning to the Joint Chiefs, that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Army General Mark Milley, sought to clarify their thoughts on the matter. Now while Milley maybe couldn’t clarify whether it was a lie or not because he became Chairman in 2019, he did make it very clear who they thought the “greatest threat” was.

From U.S. News:

“Climate change does impact, but the president is looking at a much broader angle than I am,” Army Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a congressional panel Thursday morning. “I’m looking at it from a strictly military standpoint. And from a strictly military standpoint, I’m putting China, Russia up there.”

Oh, thank God, there are still some adults in the room. While he tried not to throw Biden completely under the bus acknowledging that climate change did “impact,” he lets us know that yes, the military does understand that the greatest military threats are from China and/or Russia. Even if Joe Biden appears to be confused and incoherent on the question.

But imagine when you actually have to clarify this because of such a comment from Joe Biden.
