Andrew Cuomo Has a Meltdown, Sure Sounds A Lot Like He Threatened the President

As we reported on Wednesday, President Donald Trump is playing “hardball” with some of the cities who have not stopped radical demonstrations and/or cut police amid the rising crime.

He’s ordered an evaluation of what federal monies might be withheld from New York, Seattle, Washington, D.C. and Portland.

The purpose is to make them finally sit up, take notice and do their job to protect their citizens and stop the violence.

From NY Post:

“My Administration will not allow Federal tax dollars to fund cities that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones,” Trump says in the memo, which twice mentions New York Mayor Bill de Blasio by name.

“To ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property, it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.”

The White House budget director is to give the president a report back in 30 days about what areas/monies this may apply to.

He zeroed in on New York for their cutting of police leading to a huge spike in shootings.

“In light of this unconscionable rise in violence, I have offered to provide Federal law enforcement assistance, but both Mayor de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo have rejected my offer,” Trump says in the memo.

“While violence has surged, arrests have plummeted. In a 28-day period during the months of June and July, [New York City] arrests were down 62 percent from the same period in 2019. Amidst the rising violence, Mayor Bill de Blasio and the New York City Council agreed to cut one billion dollars from the New York Police Department (NYPD) budget, including by cancelling the hiring of 1,163 officers.”

The memo also cites NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea’s June disbandment of plainclothes units. “Police officials have cited this decision as a factor contributing to the rise in violence,” the memo says.

As we reported, Mayor de Blasio’s press secretary called the move “racist” because why should de Blasio actually do anything to protect the people of the city of New York? He’s let black people and other people of color die with agreeing to the cuts that have spiked shootings.

But there’s no doubt that the worst response was from Gov. Andrew Cuomo who surely sounded like he threatened the president.

From New York Post:

“He better have an army if he thinks he’s gonna walk down the street in New York. New Yorkers don’t want to have anything to do with him,” the Democrat said, all but threatening the commander-in-chief.

But Cuomo — who, like Trump, hails from Queens — wasn’t done. “He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City, people don’t want to have anything to do with him.”

Sure sounds like a threat, doesn’t it? Imagine if Trump had made a comment like that, Democrats would be calling for impeachment. But there’s no condemnation of Cuomo, the media darling’s, remarks. Why is there no consequence for Democrats always inciting?

Cuomo later tried to clean it up a little saying that he just meant Trump was persona non grata.

But Trump does have an army that he’s the Commander in Chief of, not to mention that he has the Secret Service who maybe should make a visit to Cuomo. Likely Trump also has the NYPD since their union took the unprecedented step of endorsing him after the crazy steps by New York City officials to cut the police.

Unfortunately because of New York officials, every one needs their own army to walk down the streets of New York to be safe. That’s the point of Trump’s actions, to make New York take it seriously.
