There is perhaps no starker a picture between Democrats and Republicans then how they have been approached the violent riots and chaos being spread by radical leftists around the country.
Leftists haven been ripping down or defacing statues and monuments to our Founding Fathers, former Presidents, and, inexplicably, even abolitionists and black civil war veterans.
Meanwhile, they’ve stepped up their war on the police. That’s not an idle use of the word; just look at what they have been doing in places like Portland where they have been physically attacking the police and police stations for about a month.
Imagine a police department even having to explain this.
For over a month police have responded to criminal activity in downtown Portland and in other neighborhoods that has caused millions of dollars in damage and has threatened human life and safety. pic.twitter.com/bdEHYENfqr

The problem? Here’s the Democrats’ response to this.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: “People will do what they do.”
Reporter asking about Christopher Columbus statue in Baltimore: "Shouldn't that be done by a commission or the city council, not a mob in the middle of the night throwing it into a harbor?"

House Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler: Antifa is “imaginary.” Tell that to the injured police and the businesses that suffered millions of dollars lost in Portland and Seattle.
Rep. Jerry Nadler just called ANTIFA an “imaginary thing” – can’t get anymore ignorant than that!pic.twitter.com/G6vtk3vf8N

Meanwhile, what has the Trump administration done?
The government detailed federal authorities, including the Border Patrol, to help out in Portland, which finally seems to have brought back a little normalcy over the past few days. The problem? The Portland Police were dealing both with a progressive mayor who has done nothing about the problem while it has grown for years, and with being overwhelmed by crowds of hundreds and in some cases over a thousand people.
Attorney General Bill Barr has also set up a special task force to deal with all those “imaginary” problems and is utilizing the terrorist task forces already in place federally across the country.
We’ve reported on some of those arrests already. Barr just gave an update today to show how much they have been doing, reporting that they have made 150 arrests and have 500 investigations ongoing.
He’s making it clear that even if the local folks wouldn’t step up, the federal government is going after these folks like the terrorists they are.
From Fox News:
“We already arrested over 150 people on federal charges, and we have over 500 investigations underway going on across the nation focused on these hardcore instigators involved in this rioting,” Barr said during a federal and local law enforcement roundtable discussion in Arkansas.
The Attorney General said that the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is focusing on extremist groups that are potentially behind the riots. The task force had previously been used to primarily counter Islamic terrorism.
Barr also addressed the calls from left-wing activists and politicians to defund or abolish police departments, saying that “is the exact opposite direction” that needs to be taken to improve law enforcement. Calls to defund police departments took on a renewed impetus following Floyd’s death while in Minneapolis police custody
“We have to support, provide more support, more training, and more resources to the police, not defund the police,” Barr said, stating that “over the last few decades a lot of progress has been made in reforms.”
Barr said law enforcement was “building up our intelligence” on the alleged instigators, as was clear with the arrest of alleged organizer Jason Charter this past week.
Get the leaders and organizers serving real time. That’s what helped break radical leftists, that’s what will help break Antifa.
Meanwhile, Dems are supporting them or pretending they don’t exist.
