Tucker Carlson has really been delivering some searing truth at this time where it’s much needed.

The left attacked his remarks last night that criticized Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) for being open to the concept of ripping down statues of George Washington that my colleague Streiff reported on earlier.

But I wanted to focus on the rest of his remarks where he asks the critical question: can the left really lead a country that they hate and why they so hate President Donald Trump.

As Carlson points out in his remarks, they hate Trump because he can’t be controlled, because he says truths that fly in the face of their efforts to control, that he refuses to go along with the narrative the left wants to push about America, that he trumpets

He speaks about Trump’s speech and highlights some of the most important parts, defending against the ripping down of both our statues and history, and the basic concepts of the goodness of America. That contrary to what the folks on the left tend to push, America has been great largely because America has been transformatively good, that America has defeated both fascism and Communism, because of our formation, our principles of liberty were copied around the world, more people threw off the yoke of monarchy and other tyrannical governments. It’s why we became a beacon for the world. It’s why people came here in droves from other countries. It’s why Hong Kong in declaring its desire for liberty flies our flag as a symbol.

From White House:

We believe in equal opportunity, equal justice, and equal treatment for citizens of every race, background, religion, and creed. Every child, of every color — born and unborn — is made in the holy image of God. (Applause.)

We want free and open debate, not speech codes and cancel culture.

We embrace tolerance, not prejudice.

We support the courageous men and women of law enforcement. (Applause.) We will never abolish our police or our great Second Amendment, which gives us the right to keep and bear arms. (Applause.)

We believe that our children should be taught to love their country, honor our history, and respect our great American flag. (Applause.)

We stand tall, we stand proud, and we only kneel to Almighty God. (Applause.)

As Carlson points out, media like The Washington Post out and out lied about Trump defending Confederate statues and “white domination” when he never said any such thing and nothing he said could even come close to supporting their lie. But they don’t care because they know many will never hear the speech, so they can lie about it as they did.

There’s a battle for the hearts and minds of Americans, to twist basic truths. The problem? The leftist control of a lot of the media and academia and they don’t believe those basic truths about America, they believe that our Founders and even our Founding is wrong, that we, as a country, are deeply and inherently evil.

There’s a battle on the streets, to attack police, the law, our statues, our history, our very being as a country. If a foreign government or agent were precipitating the violence we’ve seen, with out and out attacks on police departments like those in Portland where you have hundreds attacking the police stations, we’d call it terrorism and the people behind it terrorists. Yet media and the left seem to deny the reality of those attacks, they deny the reality of Antifa. And I really hate the term Antifa because it covers up what they actually are: anarchists, terrorists and/or Communists.

But we have the advantage of truth. We have, I believe, the will of the American people who believe in those truths about America, who believe in those basic principles of equality under the law and justice for all. And we have people who are willing to stand in the breach for it all. And we must win, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, to “nobly save” the “last best hope of earth.”
