How do you know that despite media’s effort to attack President Donald Trump over his visit to St. John’s Church that it’s resonating with people and Democrats don’t like that?

As the old saying goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tried it, whipping out a Bible because Trump held a bible at St. John’s Church and she tried to mimic him.

From Daily Caller:

“Last night when I saw the President hold up the Bible, I was thinking of so many things in the Bible that would have been appropriate, in terms of the humanity of all people in our country,” Pelosi said.

The speaker went on to read from the Book of Ecclesiastes, encouraging Americans to focus on healing.

“I’m thinking of the Book of Ecclesiastes, and in it they talk about how there is an appointed time for everything, Ecclesiastes says,” Pelosi said. “The time for every event under heaven. He talks about a time to heal, talks about the time to embrace and the time to shun embracing — how about that for today. A time for peace. Let’s focus on the time to heal. Time to heal.”

So let’s see. She’s trying to use the Bible to attack her political opponent? Talk about a misuse of religion.

Funny, because what we didn’t hear from Pelosi was a condemnation of the riots and the destruction of neighborhoods, the destruction of lives and the murders committed by rioters. There’s a time to do that too, Nancy and you still haven’t done it. Our president has. While she’s talking about “healing,” she isn’t talking about how she would stop the riots or protect the lives of everyone.

Additionally, Pelosi repeated a false story spread by CNN and other media about police harming “peaceful” protesters to clear a path for Trump to walk to St. John’s Church. The Park Police said no tear gas was used and that they responded because they had been attacked by some of the “peaceful” protesters and they found other caches of weapons to be used against them.

As we reported earlier, the Park Police busted that story:

“[The protesters were] throwing projectiles including bricks, frozen water bottles and caustic liquids. The protestors also climbed onto a historic building at the north end of Lafayette Park that was destroyed by arson days prior. Intelligence had revealed calls for violence against the police, and officers found caches of glass bottles, baseball bats and metal poles hidden along the street.”

Police said that was the reason for the response.
