Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden finally emerged from hiding in his basement in his first public appearance since March to lay a wreath at a Delaware Memorial Bridge Veterans Memorial Park near his home.
He came out masked, with his wife, and laid a wreath.
Meanwhile President Donald Trump went to Arlington with the First Lady, Vice President Mike Pence, and his wife and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns. He also attended ceremonies at Fort McHenry honoring the dead. While Trump and Pence did social distancing, they didn’t wear masks during the ceremonies.

But that isn’t how Sawyer Hackett, formerly with Obama for America, Hillary for America, Obama White House and now director of communications for Julian Castro, painted it. Here’s his misleading little tweet.

But Trump did golf during the weekend, the hack protested. Yes, and Biden did make a racist comment about black people not being black if they didn’t know to vote for him. I think most people know which is problematic and which isn’t. But it says something about Sawyer, being misleading and his excuses. He doesn’t care that he’s using Memorial Day to push a false impression.
Actually President Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery and Ft. McHenry today.

Disgusting that you're using Memorial Day, where we should be spending the day to honor our fallen heroes, to push a false narrative that Trump didn't honor our troops at all to score retweets, instead of acknowledging that he did spend time at Arlington National Cemetery today. https://t.co/NMr3yOO6Mo pic.twitter.com/WsrYx8thCf

And notice how @SawyerHackett is trying to weasel his words by including “weekend.” Yes, Trump golfed the other day, but it’s deliberately misleading to compare what Biden did today vs what Trump did the other day, especially since Trump did events focusing on Memorial Day today.
— Julio Rosas (@Julio_Rosas11) May 25, 2020
It pisses me off people can’t put aside their petty political bullshit for ONE day on a day like today. Even worse when they’re using days like Memorial Day to score cheap political points by spreading false narratives.
— Julio Rosas (@Julio_Rosas11) May 25, 2020
Exactly. And where is Twitter to call out this misleading nonsense? It’s all about stoking the narrative and this hack wasn’t the only one stoking it.
Here’s a columnist for Bloomberg, not even using the weasel term “weekend,” just out and out wrong.

One tweet from WaPo, and another from Julian Castro's comms director (they're both erroneous, btw). It's almost like they work for the same team or something. 🤔 #JournoList pic.twitter.com/JKGoTP3dgL

But here’s a little uncomfortable fact for them.
