Well, we may definitely have found the dumbest take of the day.
The New York Times is running with a story that “Most New York Coronavirus Cases Came From Europe, Genomes Show.”
Now deeper into the story, of course, they note the origin of all the strains of the virus come from China.
But you have to read into the story to see that, even though any logical thinking human being would understand that since that’s where it originated. It means that someone brought it to Europe from China.
But the tweet and the headline play into and help the Chinese government’s effort at deflecting from their own blame, as though they’re suggesting something other than what we already know about the origin of the disease.

It also sent some on the left over the edge because for those who neither read or were logical, to them it meant “Orange Man Bad” for blaming China. Some of them seemed to miss the point that it still originated in China.
Here’s a small sample.
Once again — his China travel ban, which allowed thousands in from China, didn't remotely stop the virus because it came from Europe. Another Trump flop with this disaster. https://t.co/eLJv7VdC7T

I actually don’t know but since it did, a China travel ban left us unprotected. Not sure why that’s hard for you to follow. https://t.co/QdBR6EgA1P

Oh, my gosh, she doesn’t know how?
How interesting for those who insisted on blaming China… https://t.co/pWkHDCcici

This guy seems to think that Drs. Fauci and Birx were somehow hiding this information.
This answers a question by @Acosta that Dr. Birx and Fauci were trying to avoid in a recent presser:
“The research revealed a previously hidden spread of the virus that might have been detected IF AGGRESSIVE TESTING PROGRAMS HAD BEEN PUT IN PLACE.”#70Days https://t.co/C5P0SvryOj

So, first, these folks need to learn to read an article if they’re going to cite to it, not just the deceptive headline. Italy was decimated largely because of its connection with Wuhan. It then spread all over Europe.
None of the story negates China lying, covering up, spreading the virus to the world, punishing their doctors and journalists, lying to WHO about it not being contagious, lying about the number of cases which threw off our models, giving people defective equipment and falsely blaming the United States.
It’s like saying don’t blame the guy in Car A who bumped into Car B which then bumped into you.
Not to mention the infections in places like Washington state are clearly directly from China
Obviously, the China travel ban prevented more people from coming in and infecting others.
Moreover, this isn’t breaking news; the Trump administration knew this a month ago which is why they banned travel from Europe on March 12. Remember Dr. Fauci announcing that most of the new infections now were connected to Europe?

What was the reaction of the Democratic de facto nominee, Joe Biden, about Trump cutting travel with Europe? He said he didn’t think it was necessary. So, how’s that working, folks on the left, as you try to play this new game of don’t blame China, but blame Europe and Trump?
A wall will not stop the coronavirus.
Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it.
This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.

So, will the Democrats now call out Biden for not being up to speed a month ago?
