In 2014, then-Vice President Joe Biden was at the forefront of American diplomatic efforts to support Ukraine’s fragile democratic government as it sought to fend off Russian aggression and root out corruption. So it raised eyebrows when Biden’s son Hunter was hired by a Ukrainian gas company. Hunter Biden has been playing all kinds of games to avoid giving up information about his finances and how he’s getting paid while his father Joe is fighting for the Democratic nomination for president.
The younger Biden has thrown stall after stall at the court in Arkansas that is trying to determine what child support he should pay for the child he had with Lunden Roberts.
Roberts has had enough of the game playing and is now moving to have Hunter Biden held in contempt for failing to comply with mandatory requirement to provide documents.
From Washington Examiner:
In court on Friday, Roberts’s lawyers filed a renewed motion for contempt and for order to show cause because Biden, 50, has not supplied her with a copy of his 2017 and 2018 personal tax returns, along with a long list of other items, according to Arkansas Online. Clint Lancaster, her lawyer, said Biden “has continued to flaunt the orders of this court by failing to answer discovery, comply with court orders, and provide his financial information.”
Biden, who is pursing an art career, allegedly failed to disclose “all financial institutions used by him or a business he owns or controls,” “a list of all companies he currently owns or in which he has an ownership interest and the state in which those companies are incorporated,” “a list of all sources of income for the past five years,” “a list of all employers for the past five years,” tax documents for companies he owns, and “a copy of deeds to properties that he owns or in which he has an ownership interest.”
This is the third time Roberts’s representation filed similar motions.
Roberts’ attorneys have been trying to get the information since at least December when the court ordered that Biden had to turn his five years of tax returns and financial information in two weeks. We can see how that went, they still haven’t gotten it.
Both parties reached an agreement that would have given Biden until last Sunday to comply with the judge’s orders, and if he did so, the judge would dismiss the contempt motions, but Roberts’s lawyers allege he hasn’t done that.
Biden, a recovering addict who lives in a 2,000-square-foot Hollywood Hills home, is supposed to sit down for a deposition in Little Rock, Arkansas, regarding the case next week.
Who wants to bet that he blows that off too?
He’s going to take as much rope as the court is willing to give him to avoid turning anything over until his father locks up the nomination.
He even told the court that he was unemployed, despite living in a $12,000/month home in Los Angeles. Since he’s unemployed, he hasn’t even explained to the court why he is too busy to show up for requested depositions in the past.
If he turns over the information, we might find out exactly how much he was being paid for his position on the Burisma board which was owned by a Ukrainian politician, as well as the board he served on that had connections to the government of China, while his father was the point man for the Obama administration with both Ukraine and China.
