The Democratic effort to impeach the president was all about trying to undermine and possibly take out the president by impeachment or in the 2020 election, just as Democrats had tried to undermine him in the 2016 election by paying a foreign national for Russian disinformation.

But Donald Trump, Jr. did note there was one good thing about it.

It exposed some of the people who, as Trump, Jr said, needed to be fired.

Trump, Jr, tweeted how he wanted to thank Rep. Adam Schiff, the Democrat who was the primary face of impeachment.

From Washington Times:

The first son credited Mr. Schiff, a California Democrat who led the impeachment investigation, shortly after the president removed Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman from his assignment at the National Security Council and fired Gordon Sondland from his diplomatic posting.

“Allow me a moment to thank—and this may be a bit of a surprise—Adam Schiff. Were it not for his crack investigation skills, @realDonaldTrump might have had a tougher time unearthing who all needed to be fired. Thanks, Adam,” he said on Twitter.

Media reported that Vindman was “fired,” but it fact he was reassigned to another position, reportedly at the Pentagon, as was his twin brother Yevgeny who also served at the NSC.

NSC staff and Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president.

The problem in both the case of Vindman and Sondland, that one couldn’t trust their service after their testimony. A president has to be able to trust his advisers, that they’re not trying to undermine him, leak or trying to take him out.

His immediate superior, Tim Morrison, testified as to the concerns he had about Vindman.

The president echoed that, tweeting he had concerns about Vindman’s judgement, adhering to the chain of command and concerns about leaking.

Democrats including Schiff flipped out calling it “retribution,” so don’t be surprised if that’s the next “impeachment excuse.”

Schiff did not respond to the comment from Donald Trump, Jr.
