How worried are Democrats about their candidates? Can one say desperate and losing their minds?

Latest polls have the establishment favorite Joe Biden, the man they thought most electable against President Donald Trump faltering, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) surging and taking the lead or basically tied.

The DNC and the Democratic power brokers are just starting to realize Sanders might win and they’re terrified about what that means for them.

Here’s what former Secretary of State and former presidential candidate John Kerry had to say about Sanders.

But how you know it’s bad? Allegedly, Kerry was overheard considering jumping into the race.

An NBC News analyst reportedly heard Kerry having a conversation in a Des Moines hotel about what he’d have to do at this point to jump into the race because of the concern about “the possibility of Bernie Sanders taking down the Democratic Party — down whole.”

Sitting in the lobby restaurant of the Renaissance Savery hotel, Kerry was overheard by an NBC News analyst saying “maybe I’m f—ing deluding myself here” and explaining that in order to run, he’d have to step down from the board of Bank of America and give up his ability to make paid speeches. Kerry said donors like venture capitalist Doug Hickey would have to “raise a couple of million,” adding that such donors “now have the reality of Bernie.”

When asked by NBC, Kerry absolutely denied it, even saying any report saying otherwise is “f**king false.” He later deleted that and put up this:

As I told the reporter, I am absolutely not running for President. Any report otherwise is categorically false. I’ve been proud to campaign with my good friend Joe Biden, who is going to win the nomination, beat Trump, and make an outstanding president.

Kerry ran in 2004 and lost to George W. Bush.

But he’s in Iowa to be a surrogate for Joe Biden. So this is a pretty bad time to be caught saying such things, right before the critical Iowa caucus vote, when he’s supposed to be all in for Biden. It’s an indication, if true, that even he is not sure about Biden being able to bring it home for the Democrats. Gee, that’s going to inspire folks going to vote tomorrow…not.

NBC News asked Kerry last month whether he regretted not entering the 2020 race.

“I’d be a liar if I didn’t say I don’t come out here and have fun and your juices don’t get going,” he said. “But right now, they’re entirely focused on helping Joe Biden become president, and I’m very happy doing what I’m doing.”

Uh huh. Can you imagine the conversation between Biden and Kerry in the back room over this?
