The thirty one House Democrats in largely Trump districts are going to have to do some thinking this weekend.

Do they go with the truth, the facts and their district? Or do they side with their party in the impeachment vote?

As my colleague Bonchie reported, most haven’t made up their mind yet and aren’t going on record yet with their decisions.

But some are facing some withering criticism from their districts.

Rep. Kendra Horn (D-OK) felt that anger during a town hall she held on Sunday when constituents called her out for Democrats focusing more on impeachment than on anything else that actually helped Americans. Her district went red and eight Republicans plan to run against her in 2020.

From Daily Caller:

“As an independent voter, I think you’re in a lot of trouble if you vote for this impeachment,” said Edmond, Oklahoma, resident Susan Jaslow, the Oklahoman reported. Jaslow voted for Horn in 2018, but said she is part of a group of independent voters upset about the impeachment circus.

“If she votes for impeachment, she’s screwed,” Jaslow added.

“We want Congress to get back to work for the American people, please,” said Ronda Peterson, who identified herself as a conservative. Peterson said Congress has been obsessed with impeaching Trump all year.

Horn responded to Peterson by saying, “It’s frustrating for me.” Horn has said she has not made up her mind about impeachment, and her press secretary told the Daily Caller she is “reviewing the articles of impeachment” and “has not announced a decision.”

Horn claimed she didn’t “run to impeach anybody” and her communications director tried to suggest there were other town halls where people were in favor of impeachment. “We’ve heard from constituents on all sides of this issue,” he said.

But the bottom line is you can’t get around it now. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and House Intel Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) have brought you here and put you in this position.

And it’s going to cost you. Republicans and other voters should hold all Democrats who go along with this to account. All the time they’ve spent on this, knowing it was empty and knowing that the president will not be convicted that they could have actually devoted to real facts and worthwhile pursuits.

Calvin Moore, Deputy Communications Director at the Congressional Leadership Fund, criticized Horn for failing to take responsibility for “impeachment nonsense.”

“Congresswoman Kendra Horn wants to blame everyone but herself allowing this impeachment nonsense to take over Washington,” Moore said in a statement. “But Kendra Horn cast her vote with the radical left and their crazed attempts to remove President Trump from office, and no amount of spin is going to be enough to make voters forget that. Kendra Horn’s constituents are on to her game and they’re fed up — not a good sign for her chances of getting re-elected next year.”

Horn is not the only one to face constituent anger.

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) also got blasted by continents this past week as well.

Spanberger didn’t appear to understand it isn’t the responsibility of the president to present exculpatory evidence (although he has, including the word of the Ukrainians as to what actually occurred) it’s the responsibility of the Democrats to prove the case with evidence, which they have not.
