The Democrats are the minority party in the United States Senate and that’s a problem when it comes to their ultimate goal of getting President Donald Trump out of office.
Even if the Democrats managed to impeach Trump in the House, they would face majority Republicans in the Senate and very dim prospects for removal.
But that didn’t stop Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) from saying that he was “ready to sit down with Leader McConnell and try to come up with fair rules” on impeachment. “There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to do that,” Schumer said.

Okay, let’s review.
Your side paid for opposition research against your Republican opponent, weaponized it, spread it to media and have used it to divide the nation for the last three years.
After winning in the House in 2018, you’ve done nothing but try to take out the duly-elected president, and even before that, trying to impeach literally since the moment he came in.
Now, after a ridiculously trumped-up allegation, without even any claim of a specific impeachable offense, your side with the execrable Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) refuses to even entertain any level of fairness at all in the House despite such fairness being accorded to Bill Clinton during his (real) impeachment proceedings. Schiff is not allowing lawyers for the president or the ability to subpoena witnesses, all of which was allowed Clinton.
Here was response of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to the GOP’s request to be able to call witnesses.
House Republican #CoverUpCaucus wants sham witnesses to testify.
My two cents?
GET LOST.

McConnell should say “Get lost,” cite Schiff and Jeffries, and post it with this:

Why shouldn’t Mitch McConnell just put forth a mirror image of Shiff’s and Pelosi’s rules and methods?
Putting Joe and Hunter Biden on the witness stand, alongside the “whistleblower”, Vindman and Hillary will be a hell of a lot of fun.

If Democrats think what the Schiff is doing in the House is fair, then they should have no issue with those same rules being applied in the Senate.

Indeed. If it even gets that far. Even better, go to an immediate vote and kick it to the curb.
