Nikki Haley to take a strong action to protect life

It’s been coming for a while: South Carolina pro-lifers have been trying to pass a bill like Texas passed, banning abortion at the 5 month mark (after 19 weeks).

The South Carolina Senate already passed the bill. The House votes tomorrow, a vote surely to be overshadowed by post-primary punditry. Then the buck stops at Nikki Haley’s desk.

Nikki Haley could wimp out and blame the courts. She could call it a divisive measure that distracts from “the issues that matter.” but she’s ready to sign the bill, assuming the House doesn’t ruin it.

It’s a strong bill, according to the Post and Courier:

The measure allows exceptions only if the mother’s life is in jeopardy or a doctor determines the fetus can’t survive outside the womb.

No rape exception. No incest exception. Prepare for the outrage. Nikki Haley can handle it though. They’ve already thrown everything they can at her, and she’s highly popular anyway.
