On Benghazi, Kevin McCarthy opens his mouth and removes all doubt

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

[mc_name name=’Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’M001165′ ], the man who would be the next Speaker of the House, should have held his peace rather than run his mouth like a clown on Benghazi, handing Hillary Clinton some support for her false talking points.

Most of us were concerned about the Benghazi terrorist attack because of the people who died, including a US Ambassador. But here’s McCarthy’s brilliant analysis: “Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping.”

Imagine if [mc_name name=’Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’Y000065′ ] or [mc_name name=’Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’G000552′ ] said that. Imagine the outrage at the “irresponsible TEA party conservative who will lose us the election by handing the Democrats talking points.” But no, it’s actually the establishment darlings who manage to do that, all the time.

If [mc_name name=’Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’M001165′ ] is made speaker, the caucus, the party, and the country will lose out from that. He’s incompetent at politics and wrong on policy. Seriously, handing Clinton a talking point is an amateur blunder. This is as bad or worse than Trent Lott yammering about the “nuclear option.”
