Conservative firebrand Dana Loesch unloaded on Republicans on Thursday for their betrayal of the House Freedom Caucus.

Loesch began her monologue lambasting the failure of House Republicans to pass their health care bill last week and reminded them that they should be very thankful that the Tea Party worked for eight plus years to give them their majorities in Congress:

“Millions of grassroots Americans, through the vehicle of this [the Tea Party] movement, saved the GOP’s ass in 2010 when our momentum gave the GOP their biggest victory in decades. The margin of victory we delivered was called ‘historic,’ by the press. Former President Obama was forced to describe it as a ‘shellacking.'”

She then took dead aim at those in the GOP who are attacking the House Freedom Caucus for its demise: “Today some of the people I see criticizing the Freedom Caucus were MIA during the heavy lifting of 2009 and 2012. Some folks just aren’t attracted to the hard work of pounding the pavement to effect real change, but they’ll sit in front of a camera and criticize the people who did. It’s easy to armchair quarterback.”

Loesch ended her show offering a warning to anyone trying to cast the House Freedom Caucus as the villain in D.C.:

“If the House Freedom Caucus is a problem, you’re saying that the grassroots Tea Party is the problem. You’re spitting on the victory that the people gave to the GOP in 2010, the Senate victory in 2014, and the White House in 2016.”

Loesch’s fiery monologue was more than likely in response to President Trump tweeting yesterday that the Freedom Caucus is hurting the Republican party and that he would work with Democrats if he had to.

This is a terrible idea by Trump, and it appears no one is really telling him how stupid it would be to alienate the 30-plus-members of the Caucus.

Trump is having a hard time understanding Congress will never work like a business. Elected officials answer to their constituents and have a duty to those that elected them into office.

Members of the Freedom Caucus have made it clear that tweets and threats will not intimidate them, and that they will remain principled.
