NBC Calls Out Chuck Schumer for Lying to Country About Biden's Decline. His Response Is Classic.

Throughout my years of covering national politics, I've written about more than a few shady characters on both sides of the political aisle. In recent years, on the Democrat side, Reps. Maxine Waters (CA), Jamie Raskin (MD), Eric Swalwell (CA), and newly sworn-in Sen. Adam Schiff (CA) immediately come to mind.

But at the top (bottom) of the list, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) stands alone.

Through the years, Schumer has continually exploited his various leadership positions more as a Democrat Party hack than as a genuine leader working in the best interests of the American people.

Schumer's blatant 2020 threat to Conservative Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch as he stood with jeering pro-abortion supporters on the steps in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, warning that they "won't know what hit" them if they ruled in favor of abortion restrictions, was a disgrace to his office.

Fast-forward to today.

On Sunday's episode of "Meet the Press," Schumer was asked by host Kristen Welker about previous statements he's made in which he rejected any and all claims that President Joe Biden's cognitive capacity was in decline. Schumer being Schumer, he dismissively called such claims “right-wing propaganda.”

Needless to say, Schumer's claims (blatant lies) didn't age well at all.

Welker kicked off the festivities thusly (emphasis mine):

Obviously, there has been a lot of focus on President Biden's role in this. You were obviously in close contact with President Biden well before the public tuned into that debate that ultimately led to him stepping down. I want to play you a little bit of something you said last year. Take a look.

In the 2024 clip, Schumer said:

I talk to President Biden, you know, regularly, sometimes several times in a week, or usually several times in a week. His mental acuity is great. It's fine. It's as good as it's been over the years. All this right-wing propaganda that his mental acuity has declined is wrong.

Schumer was clearly lying in the clip. Welker refused to let him off the hook.

Leader Schumer, what do you say to Americans who feel as though you and other top Democrats misled them about President Biden's mental acuity?

Schumer then went full-metal-jacket Schumer.

No. Look, we didn't. And let's – let’s look – let’s look at President Biden. He's had an amazing record. The legislation we passed, one of the most significant groups of legislation since the New Deal – since Lyndon Johnson's Great Society, putting in 235 judges, a record. And he's a patriot. He's a great guy. And when he stepped down, he did it on his own because he thought it was better not only for the Democratic Party, for America. We should all salute him. We should all salute him.

Really, Chuck?

Toss in former President Barack Obama's behind-the-scenes role in the Democrat Party coup to kick Biden to the curb in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, who went on to lose the 2024 presidential election in spectacular fashion, and Schumer's continuing denial is even more pathetic.

Welker even tried a different tactic to get Schumer to say whether or not he thought Biden was fit for office.

Do you feel, as we have this conversation today, that President Biden could serve another four years, had he stayed in the race and potentially won?

And of course, Schumer, being the snake he is, slithered away from answering the question.
