In what may become a devastating development for President-elect Donald Trump and members of his team, food workers in our nation's capital have vowed to refuse service and cause other inconveniences for the incoming administration in an effort to make them feel unwelcome. No, really.
Now, this situation isn't likely to be nearly as tragic as the departure from the U.S. by big-shot superstars like Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, and Ellen DeGeneres after the devil incarnate won the election, mind you, but the man and his peeps will still have to eat, for crying out loud!
So here's the scoop:
Food workers in Washington, D.C., pledged to refuse service and cause other inconveniences for members of the incoming Trump administration when they dine out over the next four years.
Industry veterans, bartenders and servers in the nation's capital told the Washingtonian that resistance to the Republican figures in the progressive city was inevitable and a matter of conscience.
...
Bartenders and servers in the report promised to shun certain officials or employ other small acts of resistance against these figures to take their "power back."
Not to diminish anyone's job, but what "power" do these think they're going to "take back"?
'TAKING OUR POWER BACK'

Lemme guess: putting way too much ice is weak drinks? Cold mashed potatoes? Dirty silverware?

Zac Hoffman, a DC restaurant veteran who is now a manager at the National Democratic Club (of course), defiantly told the Washingtonian:
The shift in politics will be visceral across several aspects of daily life. You expect the masses to just ignore RFK eating at Le Diplomate on a Sunday morning after a few mimosas and not to throw a drink in his face?
Oh, I'd pay good money to see that. Better yet, maybe this clown should try it with incoming "border czar" Tom Homan and see how that plays out.
"Nancy," a fine-dining bartender hilariously added:
This person theoretically has the power to take away your rights, but I have the power to make you wait 20 minutes to get your entrée. There’s a lot of opportunities for us as workers to feel like we’re taking our power back, while not necessarily ruining someone’s life. Giving them a subtle inconvenience feels like a little bit of a win for us.
There is power in making it known that you’re not comfortable with a situation, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be this big dramatic show. It’s just little bits of resistance that add up, and little bits of resistance that other people will see and hopefully feel empowered to stand on those convictions as well.
Nancy vowed to "quit on the spot" if her employer tried to force her to serve Trump officials.
Did I mention that various DC-area restaurant owners and their staff played the same silly game during the first Trump administration? Check it out:
Restaurant owners became much more politically outspoken, and Trump officials became social pariahs when dining out. Famously, the owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia, kicked out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Protesters crashed Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s dinner at a DC Mexican restaurant, yelling “Shame!” after she defended family separations at the border. And senior advisor Stephen Miller reportedly tossed $80 worth of takeout sushi after the restaurant’s bartender cursed and flipped him off.
Something tells me that in this go-around, they'll try even harder.
Anyway, don't you just love left-wing loons? For their entertainment value, I mean.
From the lady geniuses on ABC's ridiculous "The View" to bartenders and waiters vowing to refuse to provide service to people about whom they know nothing factual.

Left-wing idiocy. You can't make it up. Thankfully, we don't have to.
