'Morning Joe' Throws Hissy Fit Over Wall Street Journal Article About Biden's 'Slipping' Mental State

Poor Joe Biden. The embattled — rightfully so — old dude just can't get a break. His equally disastrous presidential campaign staff continues to get caught in lie after lie, while his approval ratings continue to swirl down the toilet at breakneck speed.

And now, as we reported on Wednesday, a damning new report from the Wall Street Journal confirms that even Democrat allies have been concerned about Biden's declining cognitive capacity during closed-door meetings.

According to the Journal:

When President Biden met with congressional leaders in the West Wing in January to negotiate a Ukraine funding deal, he spoke so softly at times that some participants struggled to hear him, according to five people familiar with the meeting. He read from notes to make obvious points, paused for extended periods and sometimes closed his eyes for so long that some in the room wondered whether he had tuned out.
In a February one-on-one chat in the Oval Office with House Speaker Mike Johnson, the president said a recent policy change by his administration that jeopardizes some big energy projects was just a study, according to six people told at the time about what Johnson said had happened. Johnson worried the president’s memory had slipped about the details of his own policy.
Last year, when Biden was negotiating with House Republicans to lift the debt ceiling, his demeanor and command of the details seemed to shift from one day to the next, according to then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and two others familiar with the talks. On some days, he had loose and spontaneous exchanges with Republicans, and on others he mumbled and appeared to rely on notes.

The White House responded to the Journal report in predictable fashion, blaming Republicans for spreading "false" information. Au contraire, the Journal countered, noting that reports were provided by 45 people, including both Republicans and Democrats.

Beware the Unhinged Wrath of 'Morning Joe'

MSNBC's "Morning Joe" crew was having none of it, on Wednesday Morning. With Trump Derangement Syndrome-riddled Joe Scarborough driving the clown car, the crew was a sorry, yet hilarious, sight to behold.

Here's Joe Scarborough's wife and co-host, Mika Brzezinski, kicking off the festivities:

Let's go to our top story this morning. The Wall Street Journal is out with a new piece entitled "Behind closed doors, Biden shows signs of slipping." The Journal says it spoke with both Republicans and Democrats who either participated in meetings with Biden or were briefed on them contemporaneously, but essentially only on the record.
The Journal writes, quote:
"Last year, when Biden was negotiating with House Republicans to lift the debt ceiling, his demeanor and command of the details seemed to shift from one day to the next, according to then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and two others familiar with the talks. On some days, he had loose and spontaneous exchanges with Republicans, and on others he mumbled and appeared to rely on notes.
“I used to meet with him when he was Vice President. I’d go to his house,” McCarthy said in an interview. “He’s not the same person.”

Joe then shot out of the gate, telling Mika: "By the way, they also quoted Mike Johnson. People around Mike Johnson, and admit that this is basically House Republicans whacking—"

Mika kicked it up a notch: "Why didn't they ask Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert?," to which her hubby smirked: "Exactly. It's, it's really shocking."

Scarborough then launched into his own rant.

I could go on and on with things that Kevin McCarthy and others have said about negotiating with Joe Biden. I could also talk about what the French delegation said when they were negotiating with him, and what they told me.
And friends that I have in that French delegation that were a part of those negotiations, who said that Macron came out like, wow! Okay. He's a lot tougher than what we expected. And actually, I think Macron sort of got his back up because Biden was pressing so hard.
I can tell you the same thing about Middle Eastern leaders that I talked to. Nobody is saying that he's not cogent. And some people are suggesting that he, you know, a bit too tough in negotiations, that the United States throws their weight around a little bit too much.

Total defensive denial in the face of opinions to the contrary from a growing number of political figures on both sides of the political aisle.

As Scarborough grew more animated, his desperation was almost sad, with the operative word being "almost," meaning I loved every minute of it.

I've talked ... about my meetings with the president over the past year. ... And I said in real time, the guy, the guy ... I've spent time with Biden and Trump privately. I've spent time with every House Speaker over the past 30 years.
And Joe Biden — I'm not just — it's just not close! If you want to talk about international affairs, if you want to talk about how to get bipartisan legislation, Joe Biden is light years ahead of all of them!

Uh-huh, Joe. The only area where your guy Biden is "light years ahead" is with his steady cognitive decline.

The Bottom Line

The "Don't believe your lying eyes" strategy of the Democrat Party and the quasi-official Democrat media is not only laughable; it's also a shame that an obviously declining 81-year-old man continues to cling to that strategy.

And perhaps worst of all, can someone please explain to me why "Dr." Jill Biden shouldn't be charged with elder abuse?
