Al Gore Loses It, Hysterically Calls for Ban on Social Media Algorithms: 'Digital Equivalent of AR-15s!'

Al Gore. Former vice president of the United States under Bill Clinton. Global-warming alarmist. And now, a crazed man on a mission to ban algorithms from social media. Yes, algorithms.

Bizarre? Hell, yes, it is — particularly because it's been the left that has employed algorithms to suppress or outright censor conservative content for years. (Are you reading this, Mark Zuckerberg?)

Speaking at the United Nations Climate Conference in Dubai (where else?), Gore went off his rocker:

If you have social media that is dominated by algorithms that pull people down these rabbit holes that are a bit like pitcher plants. These algorithms; they are the digital equivalent of AR-15s, they ought to be banned — they really ought to be banned!

It’s an abuse of the public forum. But when these — when people are pulled down these rabbit holes — you know what’s at the bottom of the rabbit hole? That's where where the echo chamber is.

Wait — wut?

Ironically, the left thrives in its echo chamber.

The Democrat Party is one big echo chamber. If you say you're a conservative Black or a conservative gay person and refuse to toe the liberal/progressive line, you are to be castigated, ridiculed, and ultimately destroyed lest you become too much of a threat to the left-wing echo chamber.

And now, Al Gore — of all people — a global elitist who has made an estimated $330 million by preaching the Gospel of Climate Change to the far-left, wants to ban algorithms. Funniest damn thing I've read today.

Gore hilariously warned his fellow climate alarmists:

And if you spend too much time in the echo chamber, what’s weaponized is another form of AI — not artificial intelligence, artificial insanity.

As the audience began to laugh, the former vice president jumped in: “I’m serious! I’m serious!”

Totally ignoring the censorship efforts of Google, Facebook, pre-Musk Twitter, and other left-leaning social media platforms, Gore used QAnon as a convenient example of the dangers that lurk on social media.

QAnon is just the best-known version of artificial insanity. These devices are the enemies of self-government, and they’re the enemies of democracy. We need reforms for both democracy and capitalism.

Far be it from me to defend QAnon — and I won't — but Gore could have listed plenty of radical-left equivalents, and worse, but doing so would have blown up his narrative.

Fox News's "The Five" co-host Judge Jeannine Pirro nailed Gore's abject hypocrisy:

It’s funny that Al Gore says social media algorithms are the “digital equivalent of AR-15s”, when Conservatives were the ones being silenced online throughout the pandemic… And @AlGore in case you didn’t know — AR-15s are also protected by the second amendment [sic], genius…

Bingo.

So here's the obvious question:

Was Al Gore aware of the hypocritical bilge he spewed? Hell, yes, he was. But here's the thing: The left doesn't give a damn about its blatant hypocrisy — it never has. The reason is, of course, "rules for thee but not for me" is a foundational part of the Democrat creed.

And jet-setting, carbon-hating, climate-alarming Al Gore is one of the left's most blatant examples.
