Remember the thing about if look around the room and can’t spot the crazy crazy person, it’s likely you? In the case of the embattled COVID Gnome™, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the rest of the room knows he’s crazy in denial over the origin of the virus that killed millions worldwide, but he continues to insist it’s us.
RedState has reported extensively on the likelihood that COVID-19 was unleashed on an unsuspecting world after leaking from a Chinese lab. Here are a few of our recent articles:
- U.S. Department of Energy Drops Bombshell, New Intelligence Shows Lab Leak Most Likely COVID-19 Origin
- House GOP Drop Bombshell Emails Exposing Fauci Involvement in Study to Disprove Lab Leak
- Oversight Subcommittee Hearing on COVID Origins Reaffirms Lab Leak Theory and Media Malfeasance
That’s about as close as you can get without Xi Jinping taking to state media and issuing a mea culpa.
But what say the COVID Gnome? Defiant as ever, Fauci just did a double backflip off the denial board and insisted that even if the virus leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology or another Chinese lab, it still would’ve been a “natural occurrence,” as reported by the New York Post.
And for just good measure, Dr. Evil said critics who’ve called for him to be prosecuted over his handling of the pandemic are “off the deep end” — and then some.
Fauci told CNN host Jim Acosta (who else?):
A lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab and was being studied in the lab, and then came out of the lab. But if that’s the definition of a lab leak, Jim, then that’s still a natural occurrence.
Fauci “forgot” four critical and very germane words: gain-of-function research.
As we reported in January 2022, government documents proved that Fauci lied, to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) during testimony about the U.S. government’s involvement in gain-of-function research in Wuhan — as well as Fauci’s funding of that research — according to documents obtained from the Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency.
Yet, Fauci continues to dance around the facts. He told Acosta that it’s possible a lab leak occurred after someone took the virus from the environment and “manipulated it” (see: gain-of-function) before accidentally infecting another person, thus kicking off an outbreak that has killed nearly seven million people worldwide, including more than one million in the U.S.
Fauci told Acosta the following. Read it carefully:
All of the intelligence agencies agree unanimously that this was not engineered. Namely, they didn’t deliberately do this to make a bioweapon.
Hang on, doc — I’ll bite.
Engineering the virus and creating a bioweapon are not necessarily mutually inclusive. The coronavirus could have been engineered for a number of other reasons, including to study possible future mutations or potential vaccines, I mean, I’m not a renowned “emerging and infectious diseases” expert like Anthony Fauci, but then again I have researched for myself, rather than believing the vested propaganda and proven lies from Fauci for two years.
When Acosta asked Fauci about a December tweet from Elon Musk that called for him to be pressed with criminal charges, the condescending 82-year-old fired back:
I mean, prosecute me for what? What are, what are they talking about? I mean I wish I could figure out what the heck they were talking about. I think they’re just going off the deep end. It doesn’t make any sense to say something like that and it actually is irresponsible.
Really, Dr. Fauci? You’re whining about other people saying irresponsible things?
And, according to a transcription of the interview published by Fox Business, Fauci claimed his family continues to receive death threats due to “misinformation, disinformation and outright lies” about his handling of the pandemic.
That’s the part of it that is really unfortunate. The rest of it is just insanity, the things they’re saying.
Fauci did say he’d cooperate with a Republican-led House Oversight Committee investigation about the origins of the virus and the government’s pandemic response, and that he actually hoped to be invited to new hearings into the cause of the virus.
Uh-huh, I’m sure he can’t wait — and neither can Rand Paul.
