All is not well in the City by the Bay, America. Not that the streets of San Francisco haven’t been going downhill for years, but since London Breed was elected mayor in a 2018 special election, the pace of decline in the once-proud city has accelerated like a runaway Nob Hill streetcar.
As my colleague Bonchie reported on Wednesday, San Francisco parents have had enough of the San Francisco School Board, as well: three board members have been recalled in a special election, with voters overwhelmingly voting to oust Board President Gabriela López, and members Faauuga Moliga and Allison Collins from their positions.

Here’s a school board Zoom call López took part in soon after her election as board president in ’21:
The pro-recall vote garnered 78 percent of the ballots — meaning the recall was not carried only by Republican voters. The recall was fueled in large part, as reported by The Guardian, out of frustration over the slow, COVID-related reopening of district schools, while the board pursued much more “important” business — like the controversial renaming of 44 schools, and the elimination of competitive admissions at the elite Lowell high school — a move which was subsequently overturned in court.
Nonetheless, Gabriela López is pretty sure the real cause behind the parental revolt and subsequent ouster was… wait for it… white supremacy.
So if you fight for racial justice, this is the consequence. Don’t be mistaken, white supremacists are enjoying this. And the support of the recall is aligned with this.
Isn’t everything that ails America the fault of white supremacy?

Just one problem.
In a city as diverse as San Francisco — just 42.2 percent of San Franciscans are white — how does one blame the following, recall vote breakdown on white supremacy, Ms. López? One doesn’t.
Not an honest one, that is.
San Francisco just voted to recall three progressive members of the city's school board.

Meanwhile, let’s check in with Washington Post political reporter Dan Weigel for his take on López’s ridiculous claim.
Tweet from one of the SF school board members who was recalled. The “yes” vote for recall was racially diverse, including hundreds of non-citizen immigrants who were eligible to participate — the “white supremacist” charge just didn’t convince anyone.
Obviously, Weigel must be a white supremacist, too. You know — relying on facts and data and stuff.

Weigel dropped another hot fact on López’s silliness.
Suggesting that Asians weren’t committed to racial justice was one of the gaffes that motivated the recall; Allison Collins never recovered, despite apologizing, from these tweets.
Bummer.

How ironic that Allison Collins, Gabriela López — or anyone with a modicum amount of intelligence and honesty — would refer to Asian Americans and white supremacy in the same context.
Senseless, indiscriminate, horrific crimes are committed against Asian Americans on a regular basis — with the so-called “mainstream” media not all that eager to report on “the rest of the story.” The latest horrifying example occurred in New York City on Monday, when 35-year-old Christina Yuna Lee was stabbed more than 40 times by a career criminal, identified by NYPD as Assamad Nash, who followed her into her apartment in NYC’s Chinatown, as reported by NBC News.
Lee’s murder — as an Asian American — was not a rare occurrence. Black-on-Asian violence in urban America isn’t new, according to national hate crime statistics compiled by the U.S. Justice Department.
And as we reported in July 2021, Antifa doesn’t appear to be all that fond of Asian men, either.
The bottom line, here, is the left’s mind-blowing hypocrisy in its exploitation of Asian Americans in the name of racial justice and white supremacy.
And as to Gabriela López, she’s a quintessential liberal coward. If you believe it, own it. Blaming “white supremacists” for your radical left-wing policies is as pathetic as your causes themselves.
