“WWJD.” What Would Jesus Do? Remember those bracelets? They were everywhere. The phrase became popular in the late 1800s as a result of the widely-read book, “In His Steps: What Would Jesus Do,” by Charles Monroe Sheldon, a Congregationalist minister and leader of the Social Gospel movement.

From the late 1800s until today, the answer to WWJD? has varied widely, based on the events of the various times, who answered the question, and for what purpose. But now, according to one Texas Democrat candidate, WWJB — “What Would Jesus Be? — appears to be a more important question.

From a politically expedient perspective, that is.

As RINO-turned-Democrat Matthew Dowd, political pundit and chief strategist for the Bush–Cheney 2004 presidential campaign, who’s now running in the Texas lieutenant governor’s race, sees it, as reported by Fox News, 2021 Jesus would be declared “woke” by conservatives. The darling of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” apparently had an epiphany in Church on Sunday.

As I sat in church today I was thinking that if Jesus were here today he would be accused of being woke. How about we just say it is human decency to treat all with respect and dignity and that it is constitutional to say all men and women are equal.

Uh-huh. And how about we include white people deemed guilty of systemic racism simply because of the color of their skin among those we treat with respect and dignity, Mr. Dowd?

And what about parents who reject the indoctrination of their children with Marxist-derived Critical Race Theory? Should they be treated with respect and dignity, as well?

Matthew Dowd long ago became a shiny object for the liberal media — an alleged former Republican who wisely saw the error in his ways and stepped up to the utopian world of liberalism. As is the case with MSNBC’s stage 4 TDS-afflicted, race-obsessed, pretend journalist Nicolle Wallace.

Dowd’s ridiculous epiphany comes on the heels of James Carville — the “Ragin’ Cajun” — blaming Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s watershed loss in the Virginia governor’s race on “stupid wokeness,” as reported by Fox News.

The veteran political strategist, known as the architect of former President Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, went full metal Carville in his blistering takedown of today’s Democrat Party.

“What went wrong is stupid wokeness. Don’t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington.

“I mean this ‘defund the police’ lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools, people see that. And it really has a suppressive effect on all across the country on Democrats.

“Some of these people need to go to a woke detox center or something.”

Not to be outdone, erstwhile bartender Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-LOON) fired back Carville. (See: “Fighting a battle of wits with no ammunition.”) as Fox noted.

How can news outlets even attribute words to me I didn’t say?

I said there are limits to trying to mobilize a campaign with a 100% moderate strategy without mobilizing the base. Said nothing abt “wokeness” which is a term almost exclusively used by older people these days btw.

How cute, bless her little woke socialist heart. I’d do pay-per-view to watch “young” AOC debate “old person” James Carville on anything — liberal, conservative, or anywhere in between.

Incidentally, Merriam-Webster added the word woke to its dictionary in 2017, defining it as: “aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).”

The Oxford English Dictionary added “woke” the same year, defining it as “originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now chiefly: alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice.”

So, James Carville says far-left liberals need to go to a woke detox center, AOC says only old people use the term, and backbencher politician-wannabe Matthew Dowd says Republicans would call Jesus “woke.”

The left. Very confusing.
