Nobody on the planet better exploits God and religion for the sole purpose of political expediency than the Democrat Party. And few Democrats if any rise to the level of faith-related hypocrisy of the master herself, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

During remarks while formally introducing Joe Biden to the 2021 House Democratic Issues Conference on Wednesday, Pelosi said:

“Our nation is blessed with Joe Biden as President of the United States. He is an extraordinary president. He knows how to get the job done.”

If you don’t think that comment was as much a shot at Donald Trump and the Republican Party as it was a genuine appreciation for “God’s blessings,” you don’t know Nancy Pelosi.

Were Pelosi not the apparent CINO — Catholic in Name Only — she is, I suppose my displeasure with her comment could be viewed as nitpicking. I mean, many people say “bless your heart,” or “bless you,” on a regular basis.

The problem is, Madam Speaker not only has a storied history of making outrageous comments in the name of her “profound Catholic faith,” many of which have drawn scorn or outright condemnation from Catholic Church officials and other prominent Catholics; untold numbers of her actions and the causes she supports fly in the face of her professed faith.

We’re talking about a woman who in 2013 referred to late-term abortion as “sacred ground.” In an article titled Abortion: Nancy Pelosi’s “Sacred Ground,” author and professor of political science, Dr. Paul Kangor wrote:

“The list of outrageous statements by Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, a Roman Catholic, is unending. Her statements—and actions—advancing abortion have been nothing short of astounding, and extremely damaging. They are scandalous.

“But her latest comment may be her worst yet.

“Asked why she refuses to support a bill banning late-term abortions, Pelosi said: ‘As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me…. This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics.’

“Her statement speaks for itself. And frankly, I’m grateful she said it. Clearly, this is where Nancy Pelosi’s heart and mind and soul is. And she is speaking for countless other radical ‘abortion rights’ advocates.

“In the past, I’ve gotten nasty responses when I’ve referred to abortion as a ‘holy sacrament’ in the ‘feminist church.’ I was told this was over the top, too harsh, exaggerated. Well, it isn’t.

“For certain extreme liberal feminists, there’s nothing more dear—nothing more sacred—than abortion. Nancy Pelosi has simply publicly reaffirmed the fact.”

Amen. Moreover, Pelosi’s comment, “This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics”, could be more spot-on — but not for the purpose she intended. The killing of unborn children is between one and his or her Maker. Politics plays no part. The reality is Pelosi and the left have turned abortion into a political issue — not conservatives.

“First time, Mr. President, that I’m introducing you as President of the United States to my great House Democratic Caucus. That makes it even better. My colleagues, as you know, our nation is blessed with Joe Biden as President of the United States. He is an extraordinary President. He knows how to get the job done.

“Now more than ever, we need a battle-tested, forward-looking leader who will fight For The People, a President with the values, experience and the strategic thinking to bring our nation together and to build a better, fairer world for our children.

A “fairer world for our children.” Brought to you by Joe Biden. The guy who refers to on-demand abortion as “an essential health care service” — which Pope Francis specifically condemned late last year.

I’ll say it yet again: the hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds.

And when it comes to “Sacred Ground” Pelosi and “Devout Catholic” Biden — their words, not mine — it doesn’t get any “better.”
