De Blasio Tries to Throw Cuomo Even Farther Under the Bus Than Last Time: 'Really Disturbing'

As we reported earlier today, the liberal media lapdogs have been doing their best to bury New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s latest sex scandal, with ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN logging in with an impressive combined total of zero coverage.

However, fear not, truth-seekers. New York City’s intrepid Mayor Bill de Blasio is on it, once again throwing his fellow-Democrat-turned-nemesis under the bus in a New York minute.

As reported by the New York Post on Thursday, de Blasio — himself as hapless as they come, yet with a keen eye focused on always making the wrong decision — called for an independent investigation into the “really disturbing” sexual harassment allegations against Cuomo by former aide Lindsey Boylan, who claims the governor kissed her “on the lips” without warning following a meeting in his Manhattan office in 2018, and on an October 2017 flight aboard the official state jet, said to her: “Let’s play strip poker.”

No doubt feigning drama, de Blasio said:

“Look, these allegations are really disturbing, let’s be clear about that. When a woman comes forward with this kind of very specific allegation, we have to take it seriously. This kind of behavior, if true, is unacceptable.”

De Blasio said an investigation should be conducted by “some individual or entity that is not compromised” or “dominated” by the governor’s office, according to the Post.

While it’s always fun to watch the Democrats eat their own, there’s something special about these two self-aggrandizing hypocrites going at one another. It couldn’t be more obvious that each wishes the other would just burst into flames, and get it over with — yet they don’t come right out admit that they loathe the ground on which the other one walks.

Cuomo has categorically denied the accusations, and on Wednesday his press secretary said in a prepared statement: “As we said before, Ms. Boylan’s claims of inappropriate behavior are quite simply false.”

Somone’s lying. What’s the over/under on Mr. “Leadership”?

Meanwhile, on the Circle-Back Psaki front, the White House press secretary was asked by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy if Biden still considers Cuomo to be the “gold standard” of leadership he christened the governor for his handling of the pandemic, given the New York nursing home death-count scandal and sexual allegations.

Then Doocy grilled Psaki about the sexual allegations, themselves.

I commented at the beginning of an earlier article about how the topics I covered today reminded me of “The Twilight Zone,” given the state of today’s Democrat Party. I’m not sure this one qualifies as such but siding with Comrade Big Bird feels weird as hell.
