Women's Rights? Biden Pushes Elimination of Legal Recognition of Sexes, Designation of Pro-Life as 'Pregnancy' Discrimination

The “party of women” and sniffer in chief continue to demonstrate that they are anything but, America. Let me put it this way: the Republican “war on women” ain’t got nothin’ on Snfffer Joe, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the entire Democrat Party.

Biden released a statement on Friday urging Congress to sniffly swiftly pass the “Equality Act” legislation, which would eliminate the legal recognition of males and females, cater to “gender ideology” (as opposed to science), and designate opposition to abortion as “pregnancy” discrimination. (No, we’re not in the Twilight Zone; it just feels like it.)

In the statement, Biden said:

I applaud Congressman David Cicilline [D-RI] and the entire Congressional Equality Caucus for introducing the Equality Act in the House of Representatives yesterday, and I urge Congress to swiftly pass this historic legislation. Every person should be treated with dignity and respect [except for females in female sports], and this bill represents a critical step toward ensuring that America lives up to our foundational values of equality and freedom for all [except for females].

Full equality has been denied to LGBTQ+ Americans and their families for far too long. Despite the extraordinary progress the LGBTQ+ community has made to secure their basic civil rights, discrimination is still rampant in many areas of our society. The Equality Act provides long overdue federal civil rights protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, locking in critical safeguards in our housing, education, public services, and lending systems — and codifying the courage and resilience of the LGBTQ+ movement into enduring law.

On my first day in office, I was proud to sign an Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation. I directed agencies to implement the Supreme Court’s Bostock ruling, and fully enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation. Now, it’s time for Congress to secure these protections [at the expense of females] once and for all by passing the Equality Act — because no one should ever face discrimination or live in fear because of who they are or whom they love.

The House is expected to vote on the legislation next week.

Incidentally, there has been a lot of discussion on the left about “equality” vs. “equity” in critical race theory circles, and elsewhere. As the left sees it, “equality” doesn’t fairly address the “problem” for some people (people of color) who “start out behind,” and have to work much harder to achieve the same level of success as other people (white people). Applying that same “logic” to gender equality, can anyone argue with a straight face that females (I refuse to use the term “biological” females) don’t “start from behind” when competing with larger, stronger males in sporting events?

Careful, liberals, your hypocrisy is showing.

Ryan Anderson, president of Ethics & Public Policy Center (EPPC), said in a statement:

“The Equality Act is legislative malpractice that turns equality on its head. It isn’t drafted as a shield to protect vulnerable minorities from unjust discrimination, but as a sword to persecute those who do not embrace new sexual and gender ideologies.”

The left defines “gender ideology” in part as “an individual’s attitudes to how the roles of women and men are and should be shaped by sex.” Accordingly, gender roles are social and psychological constructs, not biological. Let that sink in.

As Anderson noted, not only does the so-called “Equality Act” blatantly discriminate against women; Democrats being Democrats, it discriminates against faith-based institutions, as well (“devout Catholic” Biden was unavailable for comment).

It sacrifices the equality, safety, and privacy of women, while privileging men who identify as women: If this bill becomes law, they’d have a civil right to spend the night in a battered women’s shelter, disrobe in a women’s locker room, and compete on a women’s sports team—even children at K-12 public schools.

Religious institutions fare no better. Religious schools, adoption agencies, and other charities would face federal sanctions for operating according to basic biology and mainstream Biblical teaching on sex and marriage.

Outrageously, this act exempts itself from the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Pope Francis would be treated as the legal equivalent of a Jim Crow segregationist.

It gets worse — if that’s possible.

“Any questioning of transgender medical treatments and surgeries would be labeled “discrimination,” if the bill becomes law. Then this:

“And any refusal to support or provide abortions would now be treated as ‘pregnancy’ discrimination. And no one—not even the act’s sponsors—can tell us what would be required under the act to avoid committing ‘discrimination’ in the case of ‘non-binary’ gender identities.”

As Jon Schweppe, APP director of policy and government affairs noted in the last Congress, “any attempt by a medical professional to encourage a child to identify with their birth sex would be deemed illegal. Moreover, “parents of kids suffering from gender dysphoria will be forced to provide them with puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and ultimately sex changes, or they would violate the law.”

In an October article titled ‘Trans Lives Matter’ — Biden Pledges to Sign Bill to Force Schools to Allow Boys to Play Girls’ Sports, I reported on Biden’s fervent embrace of the Equality Act along the campaign trail. “I believe that trans lives matter,” he said, adding: “As president, I will fight on behalf of every vulnerable person in this country.”

Except, of course, “every vulnerable female person” who will be forced to compete with males in sports, and “get over it” when some guy walks into a women’s restroom and sits down next to her.

Joe Biden is a “moderate” Democrat, they said. Kamala Harris is “pragmatic moderate,” they insisted. Can you imagine the kind of crap Biden and his handlers would be pushing if the dynamic duo were full-blown far-leftists? Wait—
