New York Governor Andrew Cuomo blasted both New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the NYPD over their handling of the continued rioting in New York City, on Tuesday, calling it “a disgrace” and threatening that he has the power to “displace” the mayor.

“The NYPD and the mayor did not do their job last night, I believe that,” Cuomo said, visibly frustrated.

Speaking of frustration, as we reported earlier today, Cuomo’s frustration is not reserved solely for de Blasio and the NYPD.

During an interview with CNN on Monday, the governor tore into President Donald Trump for “calling out the American military against American citizens,” in response to Trump’s threat to send the military to cities where governors and mayors cannot or will not quell the violence themselves.

But during his Tuesday press conference, Cuomo’s ire was directed squarely at de Blasio and the deployment of the NYPD.

You have 38,000 NYPD people; it is the largest police department in the United States of America. Use 38,000 people and protect property. Use the police, protect property and people. Look at the videos, it was a disgrace.

He then all but threatened to kick de Blasio to the curb, before pulling back — after clearly making the point that he has the power to do so.

[I have the] option is to displace the mayor […] bring in the National Guard” [and] take over. However, I don’t think we’re at that point. That would be such a chaotic situation in the midst of an already chaotic situation. I don’t think that makes any sense.

To suggest that Trump is relishing NYC’s continuing chaos might be a stretch, but he continues to appear to be more than happy to take a shot at both Cuomo brothers — Trump never misses an opportunity to take a shot at “Fredo”and CNN’s ratings — every chance he gets.

Yesterday was a bad day for the Cuomo Brothers. New York was lost to the looters, thugs, Radical Left, and all others forms of Lowlife & Scum. The Governor refuses to accept my offer of a dominating National Guard. NYC was ripped to pieces. Likewise, Fredo’s ratings are down 50%!

Trump also went after Cuomo  — along with de Blasio — again on Tuesday, as we reported earlier, with another “I told you so” at Cuomo, and a shot over Monday night’s continuing mayhem.

NYC, CALL UP THE NATIONAL GUARD. The lowlifes and losers are ripping you apart. Act fast! Don’t make the same horrible and deadly mistake you made with the Nursing Homes!!!

Prior to Cuomo’s blistering criticism, de Blasio told reporters NYC doesn’t “need,” nor does he “think it wise” for the National Guard to be deployed in the city, although he offered little of substance to suggest that Tuesday night will be any different than Monday night and the six preceding nights before it.

We are going to ensure there are additional NYPD resources where they are needed. We are going to work actively and strategically to stop any disorder, but again community leaders need to be a part of this effort.

We do not need, nor do we think it is wise for the National Guard to be in New York City. Nor any armed forces,” he said. “When outside armed forces go into communities no good comes of it.

“Actively and strategically,” Mr. Mayor? One would assume that you’ve  been acting actively and strategically to the limits of your ability or willingness to do so for seven straight nights of burning, looting, and people’s lives at risk in your streets. What’s next?

As for Cuomo, it’s hardly been a good run for Fredo’s big brother.

From his controversial order requiring nursing homes to admit Wuhan virus patients, to battling with Trump — over first the virus and now the riots — to threatening to bring the hammer down on the hapless mayor of NYC, it’s a wonder he has time for all those press conferences.
