Even left-wing media is calling out Bernie Sanders’ flawed Logic. Sanders used to be one of the few on the left worth listening to in 2016, but now he has turned even more insufferable.
He joined The View on Monday, and one of the co-hosts, Sara Haines, began unraveling Sanders' hypocrisy, specifically regarding the government shutdown.
Haines made a great point, asking Sanders why politicians in Congress are getting paid during the shutdown while other federal employees are not getting a paycheck.
If Congress just said, "we're not gonna take our paychecks till we figure this out," that would be a noble step in the right direction.
Sanders responded by saying not everybody could afford to do that, bringing up the younger members of Congress who have kids, while ignoring the fact that there are federal employees who also have kids but get paid nowhere near the amount of the politicians in D.C.
Here is the short exchange between Sanders and Haines:

HAINES: "Neither can the people that aren't getting paid though."
Sanders has been exposed to be a hypocrite over the years, whether on a topic like the one above or about something he claims to care so deeply about - climate change - as he flies his private jet around to any event he goes to. Just a reminder that flying a private jet, even just once, will cause more emissions than a person driving a gas-powered vehicle for their entire life.
When Sanders got called out about flying on a private jet during his "oligarchy" tour by Fox News host Bret Baier, his answer was to revert to Trump, per usual. Here is that exchange:

This is so good.

BAIER: "You've gotten criticized from other people. Free Beacon says 'Bernie Sanders spent $221,000 on private jets on Fighting the Oligarchy tour, paid for by friends of Bernie Sanders...' that you've spent millions of dollars in campaign funds on private jet travel over the years. How do you push back on both of those things?"
The point is that the overwhelming majority of career politicians are worth millions of dollars; they can certainly afford not to receive a paycheck during the government shutdown. It’s only fair, as other federal employees are not getting paid. The hypocrisy of Sanders wanting to have his cake and eat it too, as he repeatedly has voted to keep the government closed, while simultaneously wanting to continue receiving a paycheck. This is one of the many reasons so many voters have turned away from the Democrat party, and why some of Bernie's voters from 2016 ended up voting for President Trump.
In fact, The Daily Show host, Jon Stewart, told Bernie during an interview that some of the policies he has advocated for his whole life, Trump has been the one to implement them, more than any Democrat has. Trump ended up posting that on his Truth Social account. Here is a snippet of that:

The frustration voters have with the Democrat Party might not necessarily stem from someone like Sanders, because there are far less consistent and certainly less popular politicians than him; however, giving responses like the one he did on The View will turn more voters away from the party. In essence, he said that members of Congress should continue getting paid, as the Democrats continue to vote on keeping the government shut down, while other federal employees don't get a paycheck. How is that supporting the working class? How is that "caring" and being "compassionate" towards employees?
It's not. Sometimes true colors slip out, and it is not a good look for Sanders or the Democrats because their whole party owns this shutdown.
Sanders had an appeal to voters in 2016 because he spoke to the working class, not at them. He had a consistent policy viewpoint for decades, and some saw him as authentic. However, some of the same voters saw Trump the same way, but Trump's message and promises were far more realistic than Sanders', hence why he is currently the president.
