It is, I guess, that time of the election cycle for the political opponents of [mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ] to start a completely unsourced anonymous smear campaign against [mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ]. One of the things these people hope is that you will forget about Jim Greer – or that you never knew about him in the first place. Jim Greer is the former chair of the Florida GOP who was basically Charlie Crist’s hatchet man in Florida.
In addition to being one of the nastiest and most unscrupulous political operators around, Greer was also, it turned out, a convicted liar and crook. In 2013, Greer pled guilty to multiple felones involving fraud and theft, when an elaborate scheme to defraud the party was ultimately uncovered.
When [mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ] first mounted a serious challenge to Orange Charlie’s Senate bid, Greer was the primary orchestrator of the campaign to discredit Rubio, including the ultimately unsuccessful whisper campaign which alleged infidelity on the part of Rubio. Never anywhere did anyone come forth with information that was of sufficient substance to even print in a local newspaper, but various pro-Crist Florida blogs were desperate enough for the attention that comes with having “unnamed sources” speak to them that they ran it anyway even though the story was manifest horseapples.
Ultimately, Rubio actually paid an independent investigator to investigate the story, which was conclusively debunked, and the world moved on.
Well, the whisper campaign is back, but predictably, the people peddling it are either facially lacking in credibility, their allegations don’t make sense, and they conveniently omit the story’s genesis with the corrupt Jim Greer FL GOP. Yesterday I challenged them to stop the anonymously sourced whisper campaign and come right out and state their accusation, including the name of the alleged paramour(s), and the basis of their knowledge.
Predictably, I was not taken up on the challenge by any of the rumormongers, but in typical fashion I did get one private email that I am going to share with you, in its entirety, complete with the huge comic sans font it was sent in:

You may remember Marco’s credit card issues, when business charges were comingled with personal expenses on his legislator credit card. When digging this surfaced… [mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ] has a lobbyist problem.

She was vocal of the affair on Twitter.
That was in 2010, but the whispers persisted, so Mitt Romney flirted with the idea of inviting Marco to be his VP, yet getting Hispanics may not have been enough to pick Marco with this scandal looming, so Mitt went safe and got the picture-perfect ideal family man–[mc_name name=’Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’R000570′ ].
The affair came up again, and now there is talk of a love child. Some think Marco’s “friend” Jeb initiated it this time to put life into his own presidential hopes that flat-lined.
Not sure if it still Amber Stone “the other woman” or someone else, but those of us in Miami have always known of Marco’s zipper problem, so we don’t doubt it.
Didn’t want to post comments openly on Mr. Wolf’s article, but I definitely urge RedState to look into this, and unmask the truth, one way or another.

If you follow any of the links listed in this email, you will find that they are literally embarrassing. I would also not want to associate my name anywhere in public with citing them for factual basis. I do, however, love the implication that everyone in Miami-Dade County is familiar with the personal lives of the Rubios, to the point that they can speak authoritatively about the veracity of rumors about him. I’m sure all several million of them were standing outside the window when it happened.
Look, legacy media outlets will print literally anything about [mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ] that is negative. They realize that he presents the best GOP matchup against Hillary Clinton. Earlier this year they posted a damning expose about the fact that Marco’s wife got several speeding tickets. And of course let’s not forget the luxury yacht dustup.
If anyone with the slightest bit of credibility has information that [mc_name name=’Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000595′ ] participated in an affair, pick up your phone and call the New York Times. If there’s any factual basis to it at all, I promise they will run the story, and then we can get to the bottom of this before votes are cast.
Don’t hide behind this “everyone here in Florida knows” crap or unsourced innuendo, or flat out nonsense packaged by the Jeb campaign’s oppo shop. I don’t know if the rumors are true or not true, but it’s put up or shut up time.
Thankfully for our friend who emailed me, I’m also going to include the other email she sent the RedState contact form today, as kind of a “bonus” for the fact that this one is featured so prominently in a negative light:
