“They’re hitting us on every front…”
“We have no leadership…”
“They are playing chess while we are playing checkers…”
Whenever I speak to groups about the state of America, the fight for her future and how to become a Force Multiplier, I am often critical of the fact that so many people on our side do not really understand the enemy we are fighting from within.
While I tend to focus more on the present hydras on the Left and what to do about them, a good history lesson is crucial in understanding that the organized war to destroy America really does go back nearly 150 years–all the way back to the 1880s, which is roughly the time Marxists began infiltrating unions in an attempt to take them over here in the U.S. [They have now.]
Nearly two years ago, I ran across a video called “Agenda: Grinding America Down.” At the time, I wanted to watch it in order to write a review for the readers here at RedState. So, I ordered it. Unfortunately, as happens with about half the posts I’d like to write, it (and the video) got shelved–until about two weeks ago.
After nearly two years of the video sitting in its cellophane, and the last three months of watching Barack Obama and his cronies launch a full-out frontal assault on America following his re-election, I finally got around to watching Agenda: Grinding America Down.
Frankly, I thought the movie was going to be about Agenda 21 but quickly realized it was an entirely (and importantly) different movie.
To sum up the movie: It is a 2010 documentary that is the work of former Idaho state representative Curtis Bowers. It is narrated by Bowers and features interviews with such notables as M. Stanton Evans, Trevor Loudon, Edwin Meese III, Phyllis Schafly, as well as others.
The movie begins with Bowers explaining why he made the movie–based on a 2008 op-ed he wrote about a 1992 Communist Party USA meeting he attended at Berkeley.
The meeting took place after the Berlin Wall fell and Bowers took notes.
According to Bowers’ op-ed:
They had a three part agenda. They would use their manpower, influence and funds to back anything that would destroy our families, businesses and culture.
Needless to say, his op-ed created quite a controversy and, as Bowers explains in the film, a letter to the editor gave him a clue that what the Communists were saying in 1992 was part of a larger agenda that was planned decades earlier.
From there, Bowers set about researching and documenting what has really happened to America and how the center has moved so far to the left, the history behind it, and the dangers to our families, churches, and economic way of life.
Though he uses the term Communism more pointedly and for a reason, Bowers research is a good overview that traces the history of Marxism (in all its variants) in America from Karl Marx and the Fabian Socialists in England to their philosophical progeny today–from the radicals of the 1960s to those radicals who mentored Barack Obama.
He shows in a simple and visual way how hard-core radicals have taken over our culture through many of the major institutions in our country–including unions, education and, finally, government–and the Agenda they have.
Bowers puts special emphasis on how the left has undermined the family through a radical agenda to destabilize the culture and how the children of our nation have been targeted.
While his documentary is somewhat light on solutions, that is not its primary purpose. The film’s purpose is to educate in a way that is visual, entertaining–if not depressing–and very important.
You can order Agenda: Grinding America Down on Amazon, or through the movie’s website.
One final note: We are in a defensive war–but, as Bowers states in his film, it is not insurmountable…yet.
I strongly recommend Agenda: Grinding America Down to you, your family and any of those who still believe in America to watch.
Then, get off the couch or away from the computer, and let’s get busy. It’s time to mobilize again.
