Joy Behar Apologizes for Anti-Christian Remarks

Joy Behar of ABC’s “The View” recently found herself in hot water when she suggested that Mike Pence (along with millions of other Christians) was mentally ill for claiming to communicate with God.

The comment was immediately picked up by multiple outlets and spurred a disappointed response from the Vice President, who urged her to apologize to the millions of Americans she denigrated by suggesting their faith experiences qualified them as mentally ill.

Pence did eventually get a well-received apology from the talk show host, but still implored her to use her national platform to apologize the viewers she so grossly and callously offended.

“I give Joy Behar a lot of credit. She picked up the phone. She called me. She was very sincere, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you’ve been forgiven,” Pence told Sean Hannity. “I’m still encouraging her, to use the forum of that program or some other public forum, to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended.”

Behar did just that on Tuesday’s edition of “The View”.

“I think Vice President Pence is right. I was raised to respect everyone’s religious faith and I fell short of that.
