Democratic Candidates in Gubernatorial Races Using Roe & SCOTUS in Desperate Attempt to Win Voters

We’ve all heard it by now.

If Judge Brett Kavanaugh is confirmed to the United States Supreme Court, life as we know it will be over. Birth control will be removed from pharmacy shelves. People will literally die. Worst of all, the Leftist sacrament known as Roe v. Wade will be overturned and abortion will be banned forever.

The horror.

Of course, all of this is sheer nonsense. Even if Roe v. Wade/PP v. Casey were to be reconsidered, the issue would go back to the states. Unfortunately, paying to have your child’s life ended while they’re in utero is never going away. That is the sad reality of our culture of death.

Despite this, the Left, so adept at fear-mongering, continues to use the doom-and-gloom approach. And in the lead-up to this fall’s midterm elections, the “apocalypse is near!” is becoming popular campaign marketing.

Politico reports, emphasis mine.

The possibility that the Supreme Court will leave it to the states to legislate the legality of abortion has prompted a flurry of advertisements and campaign pronouncements from Democrats…

In at least seven states, Democrats including Illinois nominee J.B. Pritzker and Colorado nominee Jared Polis, launched digital ads in recent weeks warning that abortion rights could be in jeopardy, while New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo aired an ad on broadcast TV in New York City declaring that the “Trump administration is gearing up to reverse Roe v. Wade.” Cynthia Nixon, who is challenging Cuomo in the Democratic primary, rallied with abortion-rights advocates last week.

The Democratic pushback has been especially strong in battleground states in which elections are often close but residents also strongly support abortion rights.

Nothing fuels Leftist passion like the abortion issue. Above all, this “right” is something they just can’t live without.

Former Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius said the Supreme Court’s pending shift to the right has given Democrats a rare opportunity to rally around the importance of state elections and legislation.

Phil Cox, former executive director of the Republican Governors Association, said abortion is a tried-and-true motivator for the Democratic base.

“No one should be surprised when Democrats employ scare tactics on abortion to motivate their base. It happens every year in every election,” Cox said, praising Republican candidates for motivating their own base by backing Kavanaugh.

Think about this for a moment.

The Democrats had an abysmal 2016. Republicans control Washington, D.C. The economy is doing well. They seek to gain back some ground with midterm victories. How can they do that? By cheering on the killing of the innocent unborn.

Moral failings exist on both sides of the political aisle, but imagine if you felt more motivated to vote because your “right” to legal homicide was under attack? What are you fighting for? Imagine being a candidate who gets a burst of energy at defending Roe v. Wade? Imagine wanting to increase the already staggering number of unborn dead since 1973, which currently sits at 60,000,000 and counting?

Such motivation is unconscionable. Yet, it’s thriving in the last few months before voters head to polls. And it’s all been spurred on by the nomination of a single judge, not even the most “extreme” on Trump’s shortlist, who personally leans toward the side of life.

I’ll take it.

At the very least, this Democratic tactic draws a clear line between those who support “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” and those who don’t. By establishing that abortion is the top of their priority list, Democrats may dissuade independents and undecideds from giving them their full and final support on election day.

Whether there are election day victories or not, the side of life is always a winning side.

Democrats can’t say the same about their own motivations.
