Once Again, Tomi Lahren Displays Her Faux Conservatism in Discussing Roe v. Wade

Millennial commentator and Fox News darling, Tomi Lahren, is careful to never let truth and morality get in the way of her agenda.

Though she is praised as a vivacious voice on the Right, it’s clear she lacks substance and any sort of firm grasp on conservative values. This is most noticeable when she mentions her position on abortion.

Back when she worked for The Blaze, Ms. Lahren appeared on The View and quickly used the opportunity to upbraid pro-lifers as “hypocrites” for daring to be a voice for the voiceless unborn. She played off her position as one rooted in limited government to disguise the fact that she’s an opportunistic political hack willing to change her colors for a crowd.

Not long after, The Blaze took her off the air in a sort of paid leave. Tomi Lahren sued. Then Glenn Beck countersued. (According to Beck and The Blaze, Lahren had been a problem for a while, both on and off air.) Fittingly, Ms. Lahren ended up being hired by Fox News. Here, she can spout of her screeching, superficial nonsense and receive praise from the Trump-loving Hannitys and Judge Jeanines of the network.

On Saturday, Lahren published her Final Thoughts segment on the network’s site and specifically discussed the Supreme Court vacancy and Roe v. Wade. In her argument, she makes it clear that her only goal is to win. Unborn life be damned.

Yes, the new high court vacancy is a huge opportunity for conservative values and principles, I get it. And I understand the passion behind the pro-life movement.

This president is winning for the American people on the economy, foreign policy, and tax reform. These are areas that benefit ALL Americans, regardless of religion or social beliefs.

If we continue to focus on those things – and immigration – we’ll sail into 2020 with all three government branches in our control. That’s how we get things done for the American people. That’s how we win.

Let’s go after sanctuary cities, and push for voter ID laws. We lose when we start messing with social issues.

Do we really want to fight for this, alienate Democrats, moderates, and libertarians, all to lose in the end anyway? That’s a risk I don’t think is worth taking.

I’m saying this as someone who would personally choose life, but also feels it’s not the government’s place to dictate. This isn’t a black and white issue and I would never judge anyone in that position.

Such foolish speech is not surprising. She is a Trump sycophant whose current political existence is focused on pledging allegiance to a man and not a set of principles. This is why, when the correct moral route is obvious and in front of her, she’ll happily bypass it. Her hypocrisy is staggering.

Yet, a fair amount of people, especially lovestruck and gullible male members of the Boomer generation, eat her message up. Tribalism really is disgusting.

Lahren’s insistence that we should not mess with social issues, because we might lose, is in no way a valid argument. Abortion should concern all Americans. Since 1973, when Roe v. Wade was decided, there have been 60,000,000 legal abortions performed in the United States. And Tomi prefers to never address that because her man of the moment, Donald Trump, mustn’t be slowed down?! The right to life is the foundation upon which every other right rests. Without life, there is no liberty and pursuit of happiness. Without life, national security, taxes, education, and healthcare don’t matter. Not one single bit.

This doesn’t even take into account the fact that the initial decision was a bad legal one in the first place.

“Justice Blackmun’s opinion provides essentially no reasoning in support of its holding,” a former Blackmun clerk, Edward Lazarus, has written. “And in the almost 30 years since Roe’s announcement, no one has produced a convincing defense of Roe on its own terms.”

Roe is bad law and bad democracy. It has no sound constitutional basis, and deserves to go the way of the Court’s other embarrassments and misfires.

Tomi Lahren’s lack of concern for the unborn is as Leftist as it gets. She says she would “personally choose life” while publically supporting abortion. This, my friends, is a pro-abort Millennial, and many of you are falling for it. Even organizations such as Turning Point USA and others targeting young Republicans praise Tomi Lahren and present her as a role model to impressionable youth. She is anything but a young woman who should be praised.

Before the 2016 election, I wrote about Lahren’s shaky beliefs, including and especially her feelings on the abortion issue. I was criticized then for singling her out, but as time has shown, my warnings were correct. I told you so.

Tomi Lahren’s pro-choice demand that the Right steer away from abortion should be a red flag. This is not conservatism.

Don’t fall for it.
