Bernie-Endorsed Senate Candidate’s Plans for SCOTUS Might Be Worse Than That Nazi Tattoo

Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner's plans for destroying the makeup of the Supreme Court of the United States are truly more troubling than a Nazi-themed tattoo he had on his chest before it was recently covered up.

Now, these aren't comments from his past that are somehow coming back to haunt him. No, these comments about packing the court and impeaching/removing current SCOTUS justices were made during a campaign stop on Saturday.

On the campaign trail in Somerset County, Platner said the following:

"We are going to have to start treating the Supreme Court like the political action wing that it has become of conservatism," Platner told the group of Somerset County Democrats, and in the background, you can hear people agreeing with him.

"It is not functioning as a constitutional body," he added, without providing any examples to back up his claims. "And it's very frustrating for me that there are...I think there are Democrats in the Senate that either do not understand or don't want to understand the power they actually have."

"If we retake the Senate, get the majority — fingers crossed — we need to use every single lever of power that we have to deal with the Supreme Court," Platner continued. "And I think that a lot of that is going to be an ethics oversight…the Senate can write its own rules. The Senate can come up with its own ethics oversight requirements. It just chooses not to."

Platner said he was a supporter of stacking the Supreme Court and impeaching and removing "at least two" of its sitting SCOTUS justices. And again, those in attendance loved this idea and applauded and cheered.

These are truly some disturbing comments, and as Guy Benson pointed out, the Democratic Party seems all too willing to hand over the keys of the car to the radicals in the party.

Their left flank wants to destroy our institutions, and it's unclear if their establishment can (or even wants to) stop them.

As my RedState colleague Sister Toldjah reported, Platner's campaign started out gangbusters and then he hit some trouble.

Toldjah wrote that those two things were:

The entrance of Gov. Janet Mills (D) into the race and the discovery of some Reddit posts that included Platner boasting about being a communist and bashing law enforcement officers as "b**tards."

There was also an unhealthy dose of self-loathing towards rural white Americans and racially insensitive posts about how black people tip, as well as some sexual assault victim-shaming. Adding to all of that was the disturbing revelation that Platner sported a Nazi-themed tattoo on his chest, a tattoo he recently had covered with something else.

The thing is: This kind of insanity isn't coming from Joe Shmo on BluesSky. Nope, this is coming directly from the mouths of someone who not only has Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) support, but is running to be a senator of the United States of America.
