The look of pure evil. The man accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, while he was on campus at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, made his first public appearance from jail, showing no emotion about the murder he's accused of committing.
In an appearance in a Utah court via WebEx appearance from jail, Tyler Robinson did little more than nod and stare blankly at the camera during his arraignment. Appearing wearing a suicide vest, Robinson listened to the numerous charges read against him by Judge Tony Graf and did not show one expression of remorse as he was accused of aggravated murder.

The judge read:
"On September 10, 2025, in Utah County, the defendant, Tyler James Robinson, intentionally or knowingly caused the death of Charlie Kirk under the following circumstances. The defendant knowingly created a great risk of death to another individual other than Charlie Kirk and the defendant. Notice that conviction of this defense can carry the death penalty."
At one point, Judge Graf also said that Robinson "intentionally selected Charlie Kirk" due to what Robinson believed were the conservative commentator's political expressions. And again, Robinson had no response.
The judge also ruled that Robinson would remain in custody without bail.

He's just been informed that the state will be seeking the death penalty. Prosecutors also filed a pre-trial protective order on behalf of Erika Kirk. Judge Tony Graf is presiding, and Tyler spoke on a few occasions."
As my RedState colleague Susie Moore reported, earlier in the day, Utah County District Attorney Jeff Gray announced the charges against Robinson.
Today, after reviewing the evidence that law enforcement has collected thus far, I am filing a criminal information charging Tyler James Robinson, age 22, with the following crimes:
Count I - Aggravated murder, a capital offense, for intentionally or knowingly causing the death of Charlie Kirk under circumstances that created a great risk of death to others.
Count II - Felony discharge of a firearm, causing serious bodily injury, a first-degree felony.
The state is further alleging aggravating factors on Counts I and II because the defendant is believed to have targeted Charlie Kirk based on Charlie Kirk's political expression, and did so knowing that children were present and would witness the homicide.
Moore reported that Gray then noted his intent to seek the death penalty in this case.
I will be honest with you, watching Robinson's appearance wasn't easy, and the first thought that came to my mind was that the face of evil was looking back at me.
