Former First Lady Michelle Obama is back in the public eye, complaining about her time in the White House in a new book about fashion in which she whines about how people constantly "commented on her looks."
A press release from Penguin Random House about Obama's book "The Look" from the Crown Publishing Group announced that it "is a stunning journey through Michelle Obama's style evolution, in her own words for the first time. In this celebration of style, from the moment she entered the public eye during her husband's U.S. Senate campaign through her time as the first Black First Lady and today as one of this country's most influential figures, Michelle Obama shares how she utilizes the beauty and intrigue of fashion to draw attention to her message."
The Look, a new book from Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States, will be published 4 November, 2025. The book will be released by Octopus imprint Mitchell Beazley in Hardback and eBook, alongside an audiobook edition read by the author.https://t.co/6ZDKSFlaNs pic.twitter.com/8NQ6qXeE54

It said in the book from the former first lady that "Confidence, she concludes, cannot be put on. But when you're wearing something that's intentional or beloved, clothing can make you feel like the best version of yourself."
“The Look is about more than fashion. It's about Confidence. It's about identity. It's about the power of authenticity. My hope is that this book sparks conversation and reflection about the ways we see ourselves — and the way our society defines beauty,” it continued.
In a post on social media, the former first lady promoted the book and wrote:
During our family's time in the White House, the way I looked was constantly being dissected — what I wore, how my hair was styled. For a while now, I've been wanting to reclaim more of that story, to share it in my own way. I'm thankful to be at a stage in life where I feel comfortable expressing myself freely — wearing what I love and doing what feels true to me. And I'm excited to share some of what I've learned along the way.
My new book, The Look, comes out on November 4. It's a reflection on my lifelong journey with fashion, hair, and beauty. Inside, you'll find some of the outfits that have meant the most to me, but more importantly, the moments that I lived through in them — big and small, personal and political, historic and ordinary — that were as memorable as the clothes themselves.
Okay, enough of that nonsense. Let's take a trip back to reality, Mrs. Obama. I lived through those eight years, and I just remember the gushing and fawning about every single thing the former first lady did, said, or wore.
Who can forget that the former first lady appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine not once but three times, with glowing feature cover stories? Yes, she clearly had a rough time in the White House. It's not like the treatment First Lady Melania Trump has dealt with after appearing on zero Vogue covers during her time in the White House to date.
RedState has said it before: "Something is seriously wrong with Michelle Obama," who uses her podcast to play the victim even though she's not.
On the former first lady's struggling podcast, she airs dirty laundry about her husband, former President Barack Obama, complains about how expensive it was to live in the White House, and how racist America is.
Bonchie wrote that:
Understand that this isn't a woman who grew up behind the eight ball. She had good parents who sent her to one of the best high schools in her area. Her college days were spent in the Ivy League. She was given the best jobs. She married a man who became a senator and president. She has two children. Yet, to hear her talk, her entire life has been marred by oppression.
The Obamas are currently estimated to be worth around $70 million. America has been extremely kind to them. There is nothing for Michelle Obama to be complaining about. She could be expressing her gratitude to a country that allows anyone to succeed, presenting herself as an inspirational figure for future generations. Instead, she continues to sow division and discord, painting a picture of her life that doesn't begin to match reality.
Perhaps the former first lady should try touching grass. She can easily do so by walking out the front door of her massive mansion on Martha's Vineyard. Perspective is a valuable thing, and Michelle Obama has completely lost any semblance of it.
