Most Americans Blame Government For Parkland Massacre
According to Rasmussen Reports latest polls Americans are blaming government failure not lack of gun control for the Parkland Massacre.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 54% of American Adults believe the failure of government agencies to respond to numerous warning signs from the prospective killer is more to blame for the mass shooting. Thirty-three percent (33%) attribute the deaths more to a lack of adequate gun control. Eleven percent (11%) opt for something else.
Among Americans who have children of elementary or secondary school age, 61% think the government is more to blame. Just 23% of these adults fault a lack of adequate gun control more.
Survey question as follows
1* How closely have you followed news reports about the recent mass shooting at a Florida high school?
2* Which is more to blame for the mass shooting at the Florida high school – the failure of government agencies to respond to numerous warning signs from the prospective killer or the lack of adequate gun control?
NOTE: Margin of Sampling Error, +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence
Not surprising considering the performance of both the FBI and and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office when it came to actually taking action on the information they received. Which begs the question why should we enact more gun control laws if we don’t actually use the ones we have.
Not Going To Hold My Breath But Oakland Mayor May At Least Be Prosecuted.
If you thought Libby Schaaf the mayor of Oakland should face prosecution for warning illegals of ICE activity in her city, you may yet to see the first steps taken.
The Department of Justice is considering obstruction-of-justice charges against Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf for warning illegal immigrants of an impending sweep by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers.
The mayor held a press conference the following day declaring she was “sharing this information publicly not to panic our residents but to protect them.”
“My priority is for the well-being and safety of all residents — particularly our most vulnerable,” she said.
On Tuesday, the immigration agency said that since Sunday, it had arrested more than 150 people in the Bay Area who were in violation of immigration laws. The three-day sweep included the California capital, Sacramento, and Stockton in the Central Valley, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
ICE said that half of the people arrested had criminal convictions.
But 864 illegal immigrants and public safety threats targeted in the raid remained at large, said acting ICE Director Thomas Homan.
What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling ‘police’ when a police cruiser comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community,” Homan said.
Like I said not going to hold my breath here. We are very much into that post constitutional post republic stage stage where there is no real rule of law but rather continuous tests of who can abuse the legal system.
Just How Did This Guy Get Elected ?
Terry McAuliffe that fun loving Democrat who never met a felon he felt shouldn’t vote, an election he couldn’t abuse, foreign money he couldn’t pocket turns out to not be limited to associating with government corruption. (not that this should be a surprise )
Turns out like everyone else in the Democratic party especially the Clinton/Gore/Obama crime crew he tried to cut in himself in on scamming the country on green energy schemes that only profit by taking money from tax payers.
The electric car company founded by former Gov. Terry McAuliffe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week, blaming in part a wave of negative coverage by a conservative news website for its financial woes.
(ed. You have to love people who think their financial problems wouldn’t exist if no one knew about them)
McAuliffe resigned from GreenTech in late 2012 during his 2013 run for governor and has said he has had no role whatsoever in the company’s operations since then. Early in the campaign, the Democrat featured the company prominently as he pitched himself as a deal-making, forward-thinking entrepreneur.
The company shut down its plant in Mississippi last year, and the company has faced a series of lawsuits filed by investors in the company, who have called GreenTech a “scam perpetrated by savvy and politically connected operatives and businessmen” to exploit Chinese investors hoping to come to America.
The bankruptcy filing cites a $7.5 million judgment won by 12 investors and says several similar suits are pending.
According to its bankruptcy filing, GreenTech raised $141.5 million from investors between 2009 and 2013 as part of the EB-5 visa program that offered immigrant investors permanent residency.
All you can say is he should of asked his good friends the Clintons how to get money out of the Chinese without having dirt on his hands, and if he was on good terms with Al Gore how to peddle green securities without any personal liability. Too bad for the people of Virginia they couldn’t get a governor capable of competent graft.
Drink up That’s it for the Watercooler today. As always it’s an open thread
