President Donald Trump has announced via Twitter that three Americans who were previously imprisoned in North Korea have been released. They are currently on their way back to the United States with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
I am pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the air and on his way back from North Korea with the 3 wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking so forward to meeting. They seem to be in good health. Also, good meeting with Kim Jong Un. Date & Place set.

The tweet also states that a time and place has been set for the much talked about meeting between the President and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The release comes at a time when North and South Korea are working toward a possible peace deal that would officially end the Korean War. The conflict is currently peaceful only through an armistice, but an official treaty to end the war would have to include the United States, which is why a meeting between the U.S. and North Korean leaders is so highly anticipated.
