BREAKING: Russia-friendly Exxon Mobil CEO to Head State Department

The Associated Press is reporting that Donald Trump has officially picked Rex Tillerson to be the head of the State Department. This comes on the heels of Mitt Romney officially being notified that he was no longer in the running.

Tillerson has been considered the most problematic of the potential Secretary of State choices because of his friendly relationship with Russia. Several Republicans, notably Marco Rubio, have signaled they could oppose a Tillerson nomination.

Tillerson’s name was a relatively new one in the running. Originally, Rudy Giuliani, John Bolton, and Mitt Romney were considered to be at the top of Trump’s list, but the list has changed a lot over the past weeks.
