Tillerson has been considered the most problematic of the potential Secretary of State choices because of his friendly relationship with Russia. Several Republicans, notably Marco Rubio, have signaled they could oppose a Tillerson nomination.
Tillerson’s name was a relatively new one in the running. Originally, Rudy Giuliani, John Bolton, and Mitt Romney were considered to be at the top of Trump’s list, but the list has changed a lot over the past weeks.
