Nicolle Wallace has spent the better part of two years lamenting about the coming purge. If Donald Trump wins the election, he’ll act as a tyrant, change his name to Edward Longshanks, and start lopping the heads of the disloyal. 

Wallace fancies herself the next William Wallace. She’ll paint her face blue and white incant “FREEEEEDOMMM!, before joining her fellow resisters at the local Starbucks. She’ll do that right after she gets her hair and nails done.  

Her MSNBC colleague, Rachel Maddow also fancies herself a member of the #RESIST crowd. If Trump is elected, the day after the inauguration, a cadre of secret police will descend on her multi-million-dollar home to hustle her off to the celebrity detention camp, Stalag 69, where she will be housed with Joe and Mika, Donny Deutsch, Chris Hayes, and anyone else The Donald can round up using his cadre of black ops goons wearing MAGA hats and carrying bottles of bleach. 

In the camp, Rachel and her twin, Hayes, will construct a transmitter from bailing wire and old resisters. Rachel will wear her beret while Hayes taps out a message in Morse code to the resistance: "WOLVERINE." Hollywood actors/celebrities, at least the ones who didn’t bolt for their summer homes in South France or Tuscany, will be housed in tents. 

What’s even funnier? There are thousands of people on the left who have bought into their talking heads' fear porn. They are convinced that Trump will be a dictator. Time Magazine drew him as a king in 2018. A German magazine depicted Trump as a Nazi, in 2017. 

How did that work out? 

He has already been president once. There’s a vast swath of voters who actually believe the "Nazi" nonsense. They believe Trump is Hitler. There are magazine covers depicting Trump with an Adolf mustache and hairdo. WaPo is telling its readers that it’s ok to call Trump the next Hitler.  

Joe Biden and his sidekick Harris have repeated the hyperbolic nonsense. Trump, they've said, is a “threat to democracy!" After Biden showed up to debate Donald Trump and did his impression of a human carrot, the DNC was in a panic. They pulled out all the stops and ramped up the rhetoric.  

Trump has vowed to be a dictator on day one. He’ll rain vengeance on his enemies. It will be a ‘bloodbath," the Democrats say. They repeat the lie about Charlottesville that Trump called neo-Nazis “very fine people” with no repercussion. 

Political cartoonists on the left (and most of them are on the left) have amplified the "Trump is Hitler" reborn nonsense. They draw Trump as a Nazi goon, as Hitler, or a stormtrooper ready to intern everyone who does vote for him.   

Are there people who take political cartoons literally? Yes. Literally. Are there people who watch and listen to Rachel Maddow and take her “If Trump is elected, I’m headed to a concentration camp” literally? Yes. Literally. Are there people who want Trump dead? Yes. We literally witnessed it over the weekend. Hundreds of thousands of people secretly groaned that the shooter missed, or mocked the man who died because he was in Trump’s audience. I cannot fathom the callus heart of people like that.

Who is to blame? To a large extent the media of course, but also the DNC, and politicians who vomit out hate. And people like Adam Kinzinger. That little thinker might be hardest hit. And, paid influencers who have taken the rhetoric to an 11 on a scale of 10. They are all stuck now. Trump avoided an assassination by inches. A Trump supporter died and two more were seriously injured. Anymore “Trump is Hitler” rhetoric will be viewed (by most people) as heartless and ghoulish.   

I’ve drawn cartoons of Biden as a bumbling boob. A man losing his sense of reality. I mock Biden’s lack of character and his policies. But they are just cartoons. Is Biden a carrot? No – it’s a metaphor for his mind turning into mush. Is Harris a walking Word Salad. Ok, she is, but you get my point – we on the conservative side of the aisle make fun of and mock them for fun.

I know that Biden is not an actual carrot. The left? Many of them believe Trump is actually Hitler. Why? Because they have been told Trump is “literally Hitler” about a billion times.
