Friday Cartoon: Hochul on NY's Crime and *No* Punishment

Crime has surged from New York to the California coast, in no small part because prosecutors have refused to prosecute criminals. In San Francisco, the son of radical leftists was elected as district attorney. DA Chesa Boudin was bounced out of office via recall, because he was more interested in criminals than the citizens he swore to protect.

The district attorney in Los Angeles County, George Gascon was sued by his deputies for refusing to prosecute criminals. Philadelphia’s DA Larry Krasner is another district attorney more willing to cry “racism!” than prosecute criminals. Pennsylvania House Republicans have announced their intention to impeach him.

If Lee Zeldin is elected Governor of New York, he intends to remove Manhattan’s district attorney, Alvin Bragg. Bragg is another acolyte of George Soros; Bragg has consistently failed to do his duty and enforce the state’s criminal code while coddling criminals.

Last Tuesday, Kathy Hochul and Lee Zeldin squared off in their only debate. Hochul wasn’t elected to the office she holds. Hochul slid into the position because Andrew Cuomo was a creep. In many respects, she is worse than Cuomo.

Zeldin won the debate, but you wouldn’t know that by reading the New York Times. According to the Gray Lady, Lee Zeldin was mansplaining throughout it, while Hochul was measured. Hochul isn’t measured — she’s both a bore and bad on policy. At one point, Hochul became exasperated with Zeldin for bringing up the state’s rising crime rate. Zeldin pointed to ineffective enforcement, including the no-bail system. For some reason, Zeldin thinks putting criminals back on the street within hours is a bad idea.

Hochul said, “Anyone who commits a crime under our laws…has consequences…I don’t know why that’s so important to you.”

Wait, what?

In a sane world, every governor would commit to keeping citizens safe. Not Kathy Hochul. She doesn’t understand why Zeldin is so concerned with crime and punishment.

You’re right, Kathy, the nerve of Zeldin to take up debate time, talking about something every citizen cares about. Better to focus on something that will power your base… like Truuuuummmmp.
