Last week, President Trump took his show on the road to the big sky country of Montana. Ostensibly the purpose was to campaign for Senator Jon Tester’s Republican challenger Matt Rosedale.
It appeared to be just another of the now standard perpetual-campaign style rallies where Trump feeds his fans well aged red meat and they fuel his ego by going gaga. There was some new material this time though with some shots taken at “low-IQ” Maxine Waters.
“Did you ever see her? Did you ever see her? ‘We will impeach him. We will impeach the president,'” Trump said before telling the crowd he hadn’t done anything wrong.
“‘It doesn’t matter, we will impeach him.’ She’s a low IQ individual,” Trump said. “You can’t help it.”
For most of the media this will make the #MAGA rally the equivalent of a cross burning, but Trump didn’t go to Montana just to question the Democrats’ clueless impeachment monger.
Trump has a personal grudge against Tester, stemming from questions raised about Trump’s pick to head the Department of Veterans affairs, Admiral Ronny Jackson. Trump blames Tester for apparently false rumors circulated about Jackson engaging in ethically questionable behavior, and ultimately torpedoing his nomination. This naturally angered Trump, who only picks “the best people” with no ethical baggage.
At the time, Trump said some things that have to make you wonder why he needs to go to the trouble and expense of staging a campaign event in Montana at all. To another adoring crowd of #MAGA capped fans, Trump said that “he knows things about Tester” that would prevent him from ever being elected again.
If Trump knows something about Tester that would tank his election chances, why not reveal it? Are we to presume that a guy who once suggested a political opponent’s father may have helped assassinate JFK has line he won’t cross when it comes to revealing damaging information about someone?
If it’s something so bad as to make Tester unelectable, isn’t it Trump’s duty to reveal it?
Or was it just a rectally extracted claim from a dishonest condo salesman looking for applause?
Nah, that couldn’t be it.
