U.S. Navy Admiral Harry Harris got a standing ovation when he fired a shot across Colin Kaepernick’s bow at a ceremony commemorating the attack on Pearl Harbor 75 years ago.
Kaepernick as you probably know is the quarterback leading the once formidable San Francisco 49ers into oblivion—their record is 1-11. His only claim to fame is protesting the national anthem by not standing while it is played before a game. He’s destined to be nothing but a sports trivia question, but his disrespect for America hasn’t gone unnoticed by those who put their lives on the line for our country. Harris got the standing ovation after this remark:
“You can bet that the men and women we honor today, and those who died that fateful morning 75 years ago, never took a knee and never failed to stand whenever they heard our national anthem being played.”
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause. Many of the veterans present stood despite visible difficulty.
