In a silent yet devastatingly effective protest against the guilty verdict leveled at former President Donald Trump, during the night of May 30-31, 2024, one or more individuals modified a Memorial Day display of American flags outside the Monrovia, California Public Library by turning the flags upside down.

KTLA’s Jennifer McGraw said it was clear that zip ties had to be cut in order to flip each of the flags.

“This was no easy task,” McGraw said.

It’s interesting to note that even if identification of the perpetrator or perpetrators comes to be, no criminal charges can be filed against them as they committed no crime. The flags were neither damaged nor desecrated. The law on such matters states:

No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

One is hard-pressed to argue against the current environment not being one of dire distress, with extreme danger to our constitutional republic and its systems of checks and balances among the three governmental branches coming not from outside forces, but within. Clearly, the judiciary has been weaponized by the Biden Administration against the political opponents its feckless senility-driven incompetence has rendered it incapable of defeating in a properly run election. Partisan hacks can rant into the wind all they like about how Biden is as sharp as a tack, the economy is going great guns, and everything at the border, as well as overseas, is hunky-dory. No one remains fooled save fools such as your average MSNBC or The View host living in deathly fear of their exposure as the modern-day emperor dressed in nonexistent clothes.

Yes, this is an appropriate time to fly our flag upside down. As our Sister Toldjah noted:

My guess is that there will be a lot of Americans who will follow suit in their front yards with flags flying upside down in a display of solidarity with the sentiment expressed by prominent Republican figures like House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, with DeSantis perhaps nailing the issue better than all the rest:

Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to “get” Donald Trump.

[...]In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court.

It is unquestionably election interference at its ugliest and most potent, and if the trend holds, it does not bode well for the future of America.

Words well worth heeding.
