Illegal Alien Shot by ICE Agents Posed As 'Media' While Obstructing Immigration Raids

Released by the U.S. Department of Justice

We're learning a lot more about Carlitos Ricardo Parias, the 44-year-old Mexican national who was shot on Tuesday after ramming multiple federal law enforcement vehicles in Los Angeles, and about the details of the incident. Parias has been charged with assault on a federal officer and will appear in court after he is discharged from the hospital.

According to Acting US Attorney Bill Essayli's office, Parias was the subject of an administrative arrest warrant and had previously evaded capture. ICE agents, assisted by U.S. Marshals, surveilled Parias' residence in South Central Los Angeles on Tuesday morning so they could take him into custody when he left the house. Once Parias got in his vehicle and started driving down the street, agents boxed his car in with their vehicles and then attempted to effect the arrest.

That's when things took a dangerous turn. A press release from Essayli's office described what happened next:

Once the Camry was boxed in, federal agents approached it and gave Parias orders to exit the car and submit to arrest. Parias ignored those commands and drove the Camry both forward and back, hitting two of the law enforcement vehicles.

Given Parias’s continued refusal to comply with agents’ orders, an agent attempted to break the Camry’s driver’s side window. Parias still refused to submit to arrest, and then drove the Camry more aggressively, forwards towards one law enforcement vehicle. Parias’s aggressive driving escalated to the point that large plumes of smoke formed around the Camry, apparently caused by the spinning of the car’s tires.

Not only was the Camry accelerating aggressively forward, but the rear of the car began to fishtail, which caused the agents to fear that Parias might lose control of the Camry and hit them. Parias’s aggressive acceleration of the Camry also caused debris (likely rubber being shed from the tires themselves) to fly into the air, which struck some of the agents.

All these factors, including the large amount of smoke produced by the spinning of the Camry’s tires, caused the agents on scene to fear that Parias would successfully dislodge the Camry from between the Durango and Ram and injure them.

Fox LA reporter Matthew Seedorf spoke to a witness who said Parias "was yelling at agents for 10-15 minutes before shots were fired," and who shared this video in which you can see the federal agents and hear tires screeching.

Almost immediately after the shooting, the anti-ICE contingent of anarchists in Los Angeles jumped on social media sites to defend Parias, who's also well-known on TikTok for tracking ICE raids in the city.

One of Parias' supporters is L.A. City Councilman Curren Price, who represents his district. Back in mid-August, Price's office recognized Parias for his "tireless efforts to safeguard our neighborhoods from illegal raids and abductions reflect a profound dedication to justice, safety, and the well-being of our residents in the city of Los Angeles."

Since Price is currently under indictment and awaiting trial on charges of embezzlement, perjury, and public corruption, one of his deputies presented the certificate to Parias.

Parias claims to be a citizen journalist, but uses that access to obstruct immigration raids and broadcast the location of immigration agents. Here's one instance where Parias both evaded arrest and obstructed an immigration raid over the summer.

Parias' TikTok page links to his Amazon wishlist, which is full of rioting supplies like a stun gun disguised as a flashlight, a respirator, a tactical helmet, body armor, and a "MEDIA" patch.

His message at the top of the list seems to acknowledge his status as an illegal alien: "Thanks to all those people who support me, I appreciate you very much, I love you very much, just as I would like to have papers."

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
