California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will debate on November 30 during Sean Hannity's show on Fox News Channel, the network announced Monday. Newsom formally challenged DeSantis to debate nearly two months ago, and the two camps have been discussing debate rules, format, and venue since.
Newsom's continually singled out DeSantis for criticism for more than a year, perhaps smarting because his state has lost so many businesses and residents (including a huge swath of the Walt Disney Company) to Florida over the last four years, including his in-laws.
DeSantis and Newsom will both be at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley this week, but DeSantis' debate card is already filled during that trip. DeSantis spoke at the Reagan Library in March 2023, but Newsom was in Mexico at the time avoiding his gubernatorial responsibilities while residents in the San Bernardino Mountains, a predominantly conservative area, were snowed in for more than two weeks.

DeSantis was in Coronado, California on Sunday, pouring drinks at the VFW.
In 2007 Ron DeSantis reported to Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, CA and assigned as legal adviser to SEAL Team One. He deployed to Iraq as part of 2007 troop surge.
