The Netherlands Jewish community was rocked by a Saturday bomb attack at an Orthodox Jewish school. This is just one day after an attack on a Jewish Center in Rotterdam.
An explosion lightly damaged a Jewish school in Amsterdam early on Saturday, in what the city’s mayor described as “a deliberate attack against the Jewish community.”
The explosion at the school in an upscale residential neighborhood on the south side of Amsterdam damaged a rainpipe and charred an outer wall, and caused no injuries.
Mayor Femke Halsema said the incident was taken very seriously, and would lead to increased security at Jewish institutions.
“This is a cowardly act of aggression against the Jewish community,” Halsema said.
“Jewish people in Amsterdam are increasingly confronted with antisemitism. This is unacceptable.”
"Lightly damaged," is an interesting way to frame this — as if it makes this second deliberate attack against the Netherlands Jewish community any less horrific.
According to the AP, the Dutch police are on the hunt for the suspect, who filmed the attack.

That video of the attack was also posted by a freshly minted Islamic terror group, which, according to the Times of Israel, claimed credit. This is our shocked face.
The Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right claims responsibility for this morning’s attack on a Jewish school in Amsterdam, publishing a video that appears to show the detonation of an incendiary device.
The newly formed extremist group has also been linked to several other antisemitic attacks in recent days, including a similar explosion yesterday outside a synagogue in Rotterdam that caused a brief fire and damage to the building, in which four suspects were arrested by Dutch police.
In the Netherlands, an antisemitism epidemic is raging.

We saw its scope in the pogrom against Israelis in Amsterdam in November 2024.
In the attack on the synagogue in Rotterdam two days ago.
In the attack on a Jewish school in Amsterdam yesterday.
Where will the next attack…
Where will the next attack be?
The Dutch government needs to do much more to fight antisemitism.
The Netherlands Jewish community was almost wiped out during World War II, and as mentioned above, they have seen a number of antisemitic attacks over the past several years. In 2024, anti-Israel mobs chased down and savagely beat Israelis after an Amsterdam Ajax soccer game against Maccabi Tel Aviv FC.

According to the Jewish non-profit Forward, the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI) reports of antisemitic incidents in the country have spiked over 800 percent since Oct. 7. That doesn't include incidents reported to police departments or other anti-discrimination organizations. The Netherlands has refugee problems of its own, one that its government is working to address. This recent wave of Islamic terrorism in the United States and abroad appears to have increased since the start of Operation Epic Fury 15 days ago.
