The Providence Journal reports that the Rhode Island transgender man who shot up an ice skating arena, murdering his ex-wife and son before turning the gun on himself, fathered another son in a previous relationship. This 37-year-old adult son is serving six and a half years in a federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, for setting fire to a Black church in 2024, as well as throwing feces and urine at correctional officers.
As the expression goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree.
The son of the transgender shooter who opened fire at a high school hockey game is serving time in federal prison for setting fire to a black church.
While investigating the shooting, authorities discovered that Dorgan was the biological father of Kevin Colantonio, 37, who tried to burn down the Shiloh Gospel Temple Ministries in North Providence two years ago.
North Providence Police Chief Alfredo Ruggiero Jr. told the Boston Globe that investigators made the connection on Wednesday and reviewed an interview they conducted with Colantonio's mother, Marlyse Dunbar, following his arrest.
She told officers at the time that Dorgan - who has a Nazi-inspired tattoo on his bicep and voiced his support for 'white power' - was Colantonio's father.
Before his marriage to Rhonda Dorgan, Robert Dorgan fathered at least two other children with two different women: the convict Colantonio is one of them. Individuals familiar with the family reportedly say that Dorgan was the main influence in Colantonio's racial animus.
The son even scrawled white nationalist messages in notebooks seized by federal investigators following the fire on February 11, 2024.
One disturbing message read: 'Hunt them down gun everyone down that isn't white, if one is white spread the gospel. Always gibe our bloodline a chance.'
Colantonio also despised what he called the "global Elite Pastors" of any race. It appears he just hated organized religion in any form.
'Eliminate Rich Snob global Elite Pastors, burn churches down to the ground, when congregants move to [the] next church, do the same,' read another of Colantonio's messages.
During Colantonio's sentencing, his attorney argued that he had a history of mental illness — as early as age four. The prosecution acknowledged that there was a mental illness connection, but that it did not excuse Colantonio lighting a church on fire or targeting people based on their religion and race.
Authorities said Colantonio bought a Bic lighter and $10 worth of gas from a local gas station before walking over to the Shiloh Gospel Temple Ministries, a Pentecostal church with about 100, mostly black, members.
Once at the church, Colantonio poured gasoline around its base and ignited five different fires, all of which were quickly extinguished - but not before causing significant damage to the church.
'Due to the damage, church congregants were prevented from enjoying their free exercise of religious beliefs as church services were canceled until the church could be reopened,' federal prosecutors said.
Just one day after the blaze, court documents showed Colantonio privately messaged an unidentified family member and said no one in the community cared about the arson.
In those messages, he called the church 'Atheist God mockers,' adding: 'They're busy dancing around collecting money.'
While this reveals a pattern, it's not primarily the mental illness; it is the horrible influence of Dorgan on his son, Colantonio. It is not every day that someone fathers several children, then embeds themselves into a long-term marriage and fathers more, then suddenly chooses to go through gender reassignment. That indicates a world of confusion in and of itself. According to a local WPRI report, Amanda Wallace-Hubbard, the other child Dorgan sired from a previous relationship, said he was systematically targeting his family.
“We were targeted,” she said. “This was very specific. It wasn’t random.” [...] Authorities [...] described the incident as a “family dispute,” and court records show a history of family tensions, including over Dorgan’s gender identity. Officials believe Dorgan had an apartment in Maine and worked at a major shipbuilding company there.
The end result of this type of anger, confusion, and indoctrination is actions that cause death; tragically, it is Rhonda and Aidan Dorgan who paid the price.

As RedState reported, on Monday, transgender Robert "Roberta" Dorgan opened fire at Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Dorgan's target was his ex-wife, Rhonda Dorgan, and their children. Dorgan succeeded in killing Rhonda Dorgan and his 23-year-old son, Aidan. Parents Linda and Gerald Dorgan were also shot, along with an assistant principal at the local high school. They are reportedly in critical condition and fighting for their lives. After Dorgan was tackled by a bystander at the arena, he wrestled away, pulled out a second gun, and ended his own life.
That bystander, Michael Black, appeared on Fox & Friends Thursday morning.

In 2020, after 30 years of marriage, Robert Dorgan decided to identify as transgender and underwent gender reassignment surgery. This precipitated Rhonda Dorgan's filing for divorce. On the divorce petition, Rhonda Dorgan initially wrote the reason as: “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic and personality disorder traits.” According to reports, Rhonda Dorgan later changed the reason to “irreconcilable differences.”
After a search of Dorgan's apartment, authorities discovered a cache of guns and weaponry. Of course, the Left and legacy media choose to fixate on firearms and not the mental illness and violence already embedded in transgender ideology. In comparison, between 2018 and 2025, there have been five mass shooters who identified as trans, killing 17 people, mostly children, and two targeting Christian settings. These include:
Snochia Moseley (transgender woman): September 20, 2018, Aberdeen, Maryland (Rite Aid warehouse). 3 killed, 3 injured. Shooter died by suicide.
Maya (Alec) McKinney (transgender man): May 7, 2019, Highlands Ranch, Colorado (STEM School). 1 killed, 8 injured.
Anderson Lee Aldrich (nonbinary, sometimes categorized under trans-identifying): November 19, 2022, Colorado Springs, Colorado (Club Q nightclub). 5 killed, 19 injured.
Audrey (Aiden) Hale (transgender man): March 27, 2023, Nashville, Tennessee (Covenant School). 6 killed (3 children, 3 adults), shooter killed by police.
Robin Westman (transgender woman): August 27, 2025, Minneapolis, Minnesota (Annunciation Catholic Church). 2 killed (both children), 18 injured.
Other trans-identifying killers include:
Dana Rivers (transgender woman), who killed a lesbian couple and their son due to resentment over not being included in a women’s motorcycle club.
Andrew (Andrea) Balcer (transgender woman), who was 17 when he killed his parents and his dog due to lack of family support for his transition.
Harvey Marcelin (aka Marceline Harvey) (transgender woman), a serial killer who murdered two female partners.
Most recently, Robert Dorgan (aka Roberta Esposito) (transgender woman), who murdered his ex-wife and child and then himself, was fueled by personal grievances and rage related to his gender identity.
