Media Ignores Recognition of Angel Families Harmed by Illegal Criminals, GOP Bill Establishing Memorial

Friday saw a busy news day on Capitol Hill, but if you watched the legacy press, you wouldn't know anything about it. The Epstein files have been royally played, so the corporate media is busy trying to invent the latest "Trump administration in crisis" narrative, as well as preventing ICE from stealing due process rights from illegal aliens.

Here's what was newsworthy: On the heels of the Thursday oversight hearing with Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kristi Noem, AZ Reps. Andy Biggs (R-05) and Abe Hamadeh (R-08) held a press conference with over a dozen Angel Families. The family members held pictures of the loved ones whose lives were stolen by illegal aliens who should have never been allowed in our country.

Hamadeh presented a House bill to construct a memorial honoring these families, and those stolen lives

Almost a year after record heights of illegal border crossings, Republican lawmakers unveiled plans to construct a memorial honoring Americans who had lost loved ones to violence caused by illegal immigrants at a press event on Friday afternoon.

Rep. Abe Hamadeh, R-Ariz., the lawmaker spearheading the effort, said it would serve as a reminder of the costs of bad policy.

"Now, this bill authorizes a permanent national memorial in Washington, D.C. honoring U.S. citizens and lawful residents whose lives are taken by individuals unlawfully present in the United States," Hamadeh said.

"But in many ways, it also shames the politicians who allowed this situation to happen," he added.

Democrat lawmakers apparently do not want this reminder, because the co-sponsors on the bill are all Republicans. Hamadeh and Biggs were joined by the Angel families and members of The American Border Story (TABS), an organization dedicated to documenting the U.S. southern border crisis. These brave mothers and fathers shared their stories at a congressional hearing following the press conference, and only Fox News bothered to document it.

Angel Mom Mary Ann Mendoza, whose Arizona law enforcement officer son was killed in a head-on collision with an illegal alien who was high on meth, spoke to the great need for this memorial.

This memorial is needed, because folks, we need to understand, more people are killed annually by open borders and fentanyl and illegal alien criminals killing our loved ones than were killed on 9/11.

Angel Mom Agnes Gibboney also shared her story. RedState shared Gibboney's testimony in 2018, on what was the 16th anniversary of her son Ronald's death (find her heartbreaking words in a link below).

Sixteen years ago Friday, Agnes Gibboney received the news no mother ever wants to hear. She was at a Girl Scout campout with her two daughters when the park ranger came to her tent, yelling to her that she had an emergency. She called her husband from the ranger’s station and was told that her 30-year-old son, Ronald, had been shot and was in surgery and expected to survive. She rushed home to find out that Ronald didn’t make it.

Ronald’s killer was Luis Humberto Gonzalez, a previously-deported illegal alien (deported for criminal behavior) and gang member. Ronald was not the intended target; he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gonzalez fled to Mexico before turning himself in. He was convicted and is in prison, scheduled to be released in 2020.

While Gonzalez will eventually be released from prison (and hopefully deported), Agnes and her family will never be released from the pain and grief they have suffered since April 27, 2002.

Gibboney remains a fierce advocate for Angel families and a fierce critic of the loose border policies of past administrations, including the Biden-Harris administration. Gibboney was at Noem's oversight hearing and gave her a hug, after Noem was targeted and lambasted by Congressional Democrats who demanded she resign.

On Friday, Gibboney appeared on Fox News' America Reports program, to thank the Trump administration for the work it was doing to secure the border and remove criminal illegals from our nation. Gibboney also blasted Congressional Democrats for mounting what she described as "a disgusting circus," also praising the work Noem is doing for Angel families:

At the press conference, Gibboney gave voice to the pain experienced by Angel families, especially during the Christmas season. Gibboney expressed through tears, "My son Ronald should be here today to celebrate Christmas. I cannot tell you how difficult this time of the year is for my family."

The Angel families also pointed out the hypocrisy of the legacy press. Fox News senior correspondent Bill Melugin reported on one statement by an Angel mom:

Every day they're barraged by what she says are media sob stories about illegal immigrants being arrested by ICE. Where were you guys? Where were the media when we got the phone calls about our loved ones being taken away by illegal aliens?

This week's winner of the Hypocrisy Awards goes to CNN. On Friday, they decided that an exclusive interview with Bruna Caroline Ferreira was in order. Ferreira is a DREAMer, who was detained in November by Massachusetts ICE agents while she was on her way to pick up her son from school.

Why, was this person important enough to garner an exclusive? It seems the father of Ferreira's child is the brother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Leavitt is purportedly the child's godmother. Obviously this is the closest thing to an illegal alien nanny who worked at the White House that the legacy media could find. Yes, it's as forced as you can imagine.

While the legacy media continues to rifle through the garbage of White House personnel and chase down peripheral people who have an axe to grind, the Trump administration continues to uphold and honor the Angel families who have lost so much.

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum recently unveiled the new signage for the Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge. Nungaray was only 12 years old when she was lured away from her home, raped, strangled to death, and dumped by two Venezuelan illegal aliens in Texas.

AZ Rep. Hamadeh spoke with Just the News' John Solomon about the bravery of these families, and the Grand Canyon State lawmaker's drive to see that they will no longer be forgotten. Once again, an interview that legacy media could have presented, but bypassed because those Epstein photos were just too compelling.
